Just as the title says,  How come there is a Netflix for GearVr but they don't have it on the Rift store?

Oh that old chestnut

I agree it's strange - but easy to work around.

Just grab Big Screen, then watch all the Netflix you like in the simulated theatre environment.

Honestly, I don't care about getting an official Netflix app for the Rift if it's going to be like the Rift port of Hulu's Gear VR app.

I mean, the hulu app is alright, but not having positional tracking automatically makes any VR app feel weird when you're used to having it.  As soon as Bigscreen became available, I started using it exclusively for Hulu. And really, I can't imagine Netflix coming out with an app that I'd want to use over BigScreen, either.

On the brightside, BigScreen essentially made me WAY more interested in getting / keeping a subscription to both, so they really shouldn't worry about having their own apps anyways.
It's hard being the voice of reason when you're surrounded by unreasonable people.

I honestly didn't search, and for that I apologize.  however I do visit these forums just about daily and havnt ever seen a thread about it.  Not saying there isn't, just saying that I was pretty confident when I made this thread it hadn't been spoken about for at least a while

this does seem like a fine work around

I don't use Hulu, basically Netflix, Kodi (Exodus)  are the folks I get my TV kicks from but you seconded the motion of just using Big screen so this seems the best way to go

I guess I just kind of wanted that setup like it is on GearVR.  The red velvet couch and the lights that dim when the show begins to play.

If you haven't tried Big Screen out before now, it has quite a nice setup too. Though I don't think the lights dim, as such.

I think Netflix is best viewed with Virtual Desktop in the home theater.  😃  That's how I watch most of my movies, 3D movies, YouTube, and more.

I enjoy watching Netflix with Virtual Desktop, but BigScreens is fun as well.

I'm unable to get Netflixs to work with Virtual Desktop or BigScreen.

I was really impressed with the video resolution of Netflix on Gear VR.
