Why are games on the Oculus app so expensive?

The title says it all. Why are games and apps on the Oculus app more expensive than somewhere else, like steam?

Sales can very depending on the client it's being sold on. PC gamers will know very well that you have to check all game launchers to find the best deal because not everyone has the same deal. The best example of this is Steam's summer sales or Epic's monthly deals that they do. Of course platforms prices have a history of varying too. PS4 gamers can confirm that one from back in the day. If I remember right, PS store had Call of Duty: Ghosts for over $100 at one point when everyone else was roughly $60.

This is of course going to depend on which games and apps you're interested in, but I've found a lot of Quest games are usually less than $30, which to me is a fantastic price for a brand new game. There are a lot of Steam games that are even cheaper than that, sure, but for a brand new game, I'll happily take $30 over $60.

What's the cheapest price you've ever gotten an Oculus game? For me, it might've been Angry Birds for $12.

niche market and small development teams, vr games are generally boutique priced.  But over-all i feel there reasonable for the effort put into them.

motion tracked controllers are uniqe to vr games and take additional programing to get right.

IMO, it's worth paying a bit more for a VR title you know will be quality. Sure, Steam has a lot of VR titles which are super cheep. But then again Steam also has a really entry low bar to get your game on the store. How many of those $5-10 games are barely functional nausea inducing shovelware? I've picked up a few PCVR titles on Steam, only to find them to be unplayable because it's a buggy mess that makes me vomit. And I don't generally get VR sickness. I've never had that experience with things bought on the Rift or Quest storefronts. Even the bad games at least don't make me sick to my stomach.

That said, I noticed there's a Subnautica VR app available on Rift. And I can't help but wonder if it's a fixed version, or just the poorly implemented VR from the base game on Steam. I mean, sure it's a neat game to play in VR. But the UI breaks hard in the Steam version when played in VR. And the game didn't support touch controllers very well. I probably wont try buying it though. I already bought Subnautica twice (Steam and Xbox One).

Lo, a quest! I seek the threads of my future in the seeds of the past.

I am also wondering to see the price. For purchasing these games I have to earn a lot from the casino. Well, I just started playing casinos at  with my friends and started earning money. One thing I observed is that if you always want to be energetic and entertaining then you should play casino games for sure.

Why is it expensive ?
Because it's a nightmare to develop a good quality-unbugged product...

What I meant was why is a game like, for example, Red Matter 2 $30 on Oculus when I can get it for $20 on Steam? Blade & Sorcery, too. I would get BaS for $20 on Oculus but $10-15 on Steam.

What I meant was that a game like Red Matter 2 is $30 on Oculus. but I can get it on Steam for just $20. They're both the same title, same dev team and everything but they are just differently priced on each store.

The big difference is you can play the Quest version with no PC required. You need a PC to play the Steam version. So there's that to consider as well.
