One year ago I ordered Q3 and it was a disaster.
Wifi didn't work, controller tracking didn't work, head tracking was sometimes lagging. Even PCVR with USB was not good, neither were native Oculus apps.
So i sent it back.
One year later, after reading how Q3 improved, i bought it again. Everything mentioned above improved significantly, but the Q3 lost in other area and feels more cheap.
Did they change the cover? It feels different to the one I had last year.
There was no protection stickers for front cameras?!
The right controller feels like it was already used for a decade. The stick wiggles like the springs keeping it in position are already at the end of their lifetime.
Thank god Wifi is now working. But the Q3 tells me the signal is 'average' when standing 3 meters away in an uncontested channel and no other relevant interferences.
Wifi works only partially. 5GHz works 6GHZ (Wifi 6e) doesn't work it is not even visible most of the time.
I think I forgot to mention the scratching trigger on the left controller. Again something that reminds me on my old XBox controller after 5 years of using.
I just noticed my Quest 3 is on v69 while v71 is already release? but it tells me there is no new update?!
(although various creators already talk about how wonderful v71 is, it is still in beta and not yet publicly release. Not sure why they are developing two versions in parallel?!)
And the akku after four days, barely used (total 4h), fully loaded and turned off... after half a day when turning on the HMD it is already down 1%. Like my 5y old phone that jumps to 99% as soon as I unplug from charger.
I forgot to mention that pressing the volume down button causes light leaking into the HMD
Just tried to move files from computer to Q3 since the devs didn't come to the idea that a wireless headset might need to connect to network share.
And seriously? I had to watch two videos and read reddit to figure out why Q3 doesn't show up on my computer. Disabling Quest link, making sure DnD is not active, and being quick to click on a 5 sec notification that might not even be in the fov of the headset and is not shown in the notification window?!
