the white description fonts are quite hard to read, mostly 50% guessing at least... there is onli a little bit better while leaning in, but still far from readable...

any improvements in near future ?

@seeingdaily,  What graphics card/ driver/ windows version are you using?

I have subpar vision generally (macular degeneration), and I thought it might be helpful to state here that I have no real issue reading fonts in Dragon Front on the CV1 with a GTX 1070 / Windows 10.

Change your IPD on the headset and see if that helps. I've found that when I adjust my IPD using the green "cross" that Oculus provides, it sharpens things into focus that are 3-5 feet in front of me, but does not do much in terms of things really close to my face (such as if I was reading a book in VR). I regularly switch between 67mm (green cross focus) and 62mm (focus on things in front of my face).

Edit: Silly me, this was kind of resurrected from October, now that I see. Hopefully OP has been satisfied since then with their HMD.
