having ffb issues and lag issues with dirt rally

I have checked around for so many different ffb settings and still the ffb is so weak. When i play PCars then switch to dirt it actually feels like there is no feed back at all. I have soft lock turned off but still the steering range on screen is 180. Also when I play with my xbox controller with my headset there is no lag. When I hook up my thrustmaster TX the lag starts every 5 seconds. I have reinstalled the game, tried different USB ports (2.0, 3.0), checked to see if all my sim rig is up to date and that the game is up to date. Everything seems fine. I have no problems on PCars or any other games, only this one.

My PC setup:

Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-6700k (4.0GHz) 8MB Cache
ASUS® Z170 PRO GAMING: ATX, LG1151, USB 3.1, SATA 6GBs
16GB HyperX FURY DDR4 2666MHz (2 x 8GB Kit)
500GB Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" SSD, SATA 6Gb/s (upto 540MB/sR | 520MB/sW)

ASUS STRIX GTX 1070 NVIDIA GEFORCE

SIM RIG:

Thrustmaster tx base
599XX EVO wheel
T3PA Pro pedals
TH8A shifter

Please help.

Thank you

Have you calibrated the TX within Dirt Rally? DR has pretty good FFB, steering range should be that of the TX base [900°], with soft-lock ON, you'll then get the different lock-to-lock range for specific cars.

IICR, calibration is similar to Pcars.

Not sure why there's lag, the TX is officially supported ...With some games, if I leave my xbox controller plugged in, it can often cause control problems!

yep, i have calibrated it many times and tried with soft lock on and off, but still no luck. My xbox controller is also disconnected. I have no idea why this is happening. I hope it is possible to solve, I'm missing out on an amazing game

i had something very similar to this, albeit before i got my Rift, and it had started happening, IIRC, just after i had upgraded my motherboard.  I have a G29 and when that was plugged in even on the benchmark run I had stutters like the ones you describe. When i unplugged it, the game ran perfectly, but that was never going to be a perfect solution.

I still don't definitely know exactly what caused it, but i reckon that it must have been down to some form of conflict between the USB drivers for the old board and those for the new one.  Either way, and you may not like this, but a clean install of Windows 10 appeared to fix it.  You might be able to find a less dramatic and time consuming solution.

Good luck and you are correct, in that it is an amazing game.

Some of us using the AccuForce wheel have experienced weaker FFB with some games while using the Rift. It's been suggested that it may be USB-related and some have solved it by adding a dedicated PCIe USB card for either the Rift or the controller.

In my case, I added a powered USB2.0 hub to handle all of my sim-racing devices and the rift is plugged directly into the Mobo USB3.0 ports; it seems to have solved the problem.

If you haven't already, try updating your specific USB drivers directly from the USB vendor website. You can identify them through device manager and then search online for the specific USB listed in device manager.

I would exhaust all USB-driver options before performing an OS install but, doing the OS on my system is a long tedious process.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the responses. I will try out the suggested options and report back.
