At $20 I will probably wait until I hear more about it by members of this community. It looks fun as hell http://www.iomoonvr.com

Although I'm wondering if it is another Farlands type game. We have Farlands underwater via SubNautica; is this the same thing only in deep space?

I was creeped out a few times due to the newness of it all. It's not "Dreadhalls creepy" though, more WTF-SciFi creepy. Especially when crossing over some of the high elevations with lava flowing beneath your feet.

Remember, all areas are unlock-able in the Early Access version. If you see padlocks, you havent found those areas. Thank you for enjoying it. It will grow.

I purchased this...and it's really, really pretty.  There is plenty to look at, and there is a physics-demo game element to all of it, exploring things in VR/3D.  The pricing, I feel, is a little out of line with what you get right now, but there is effort here and there was more than one time I felt like I'd slipped temporarily into a Disney-esque Motion Ride.  You can't knock the graphics.

Controls feel off, however...basically driving a tank.  It feels like a tank, turns like one, and has the speed of one....which is a problem because you are supposed to be a disembodied brain floating in a hovering exploration pod.  Its one of those sensory disconnect things for me, I would think I should be floating around a bit visually and my turning should be weightless/effortless...instead you rumble along the surface, or so I'm interpreting that as being in a heavy, lumbering thing.

This means I'm also not bothering to look anywhere but in front of me.  If I glance left/right, it takes long enough for the rumbly pod to catch up to where I am looking I tend to just glance, and then eventually just look around with the stick.  Moving my position back didn't seem to help much, again I think more weightless controls might help here.  These are just initial IMHO's, I haven't spent a lot of time...figuring out what I'm supposed to be doing 🙂

I actually found the price to be fair, in comparison to shorter games for the same price such as, "Fated." I've played ioMoon for well over an hour and I still haven't unlocked all the areas.

Regarding the controls, you can remove the skins with the "X" button (iirc). I was hovering around with a completely open camera view most of the time, and I was able to make speedy turns (left/right) by keeping the turn speed set to Fast while throttling forward as I made a turn. And don't forget to use your turbo boosters often.
