iRacing - DK2 Next Week

Hi All,

Good news, pleased i've bought all those cars and tracks now. 🙂

I don't have time to read this entire thread, but the DK2 support in iRacing is in beta testing right now, working really well, and will be in the next release. It seems to work best when configured in "extended desktop mode". The UI rendering has been redone this time to fix it in 3D space, it's really cool. The resolution is much improved in the DK2 - and the experience is really intense.

Posted at the same time in the other thread. Sounds very promising. The very fact they've got the UI working in a 3D space makes me believe they looked at something like LFS and understood that's the bar to aim for. Can't wait. Now I'm glad I loaded 100 dollars into the account during the last credits sale.

I'm currently about $400 and haven't really played it yet. LOL What i have played though convinced me this is definetly the best racing sim and i own Assetto Corsa and Project Cars. You just have to be willing to spend the money.

iRacing should work really well, because the menu is basically a webpage, the game launches after you choose your track/car etc.

I own a couple cars and additional tracks.

For people who don't know, iracing is a little cheaper than it seems.

Every November, they have a 50 percent off sale. So you can re-up at 50 dollars.

They have semi-annual credit sales where 75 gets you 100. And 25 gets you 30. (These can only be used once per sale).

Then if you buy 6 items or more at once, you save 20 percent.

Plus there are participation credits. If you qualify for these, you can earn like 40 dollars a year just by racing.

So you can cut your costs significantly if you exploit all these different savings.

I bought iRacing right after I got my DK2 without looking into it thinking it had Dk2 support. But I played it anyway and loved it, Glad to see the DK2 support finally coming. Can't wait!

If that is true, they will see my money again. Thats is great news. Assetto Corsa was a shame...

Assetto Corsa is pretty awesome now. The day one release was missing a Steam file and resulted in the IPD being set to 0. Try it again. Menu's a still a bit of a pain, but the on track racing is the best available at the moment.

Hopefully trolling, because AC rift support still has a lot of issues and you can't play the game properly with it.

Trolling. What? Dude, I've posted two of the positive iracing comments (in a thread with 8 posts). I was simply responding to how AC was fixed with the patch. And it has been. There are massive issues, yes. And it's only good for hot lapping (which many people may not care for). But hotlapping in Assetto Corsa is the most impressive thing you can do with the DK2 right now. Some people are still having technical issues with that, but I'm not. It's glorious. 3D is awesome. Scale is perfect (if you get the right IPD in your Oculus utility). And performance is surprisingly great. *shrugs*
