[Finished + APK] Sherlock Holmes - The Wagner Ritual

Hi everyone,

I'm finally done! Here's my VRJam submission 'Sherlock Holmes - The Wagner Ritual'! 🙂

It's an adaption of a classic Sherlock Holmes short story (The Musgrave Ritual) - now taking place in Zurich, Switzerland. Because of that, the app features some nice pictures of Zurich, all shoot on location. 🙂 If you know the original story, you will find a lot of familiar elements in a new light - and if you don't, just jump in and enjoy the ride. I hope you enjoy my interpretation!

While I'm still working on a new video, you can find the complete description and the APK over here:
http://vrjam.challengepost.com/submissi ... ner-ritual
(might be offline for a bit on Sunday, when I upload the new video link and it's submitted for review)

Feedback is more than welcome ❤️

EDIT:
Here's the APK link separately

"Word of warning. The Sherlock one crashed my phone at Chapter 3. I had to take the battery out to restart it. Also took me down 30% battery life in 20 minutes playing it"

Thanks for the tip. Strangely that never happened on our two test phones - and I had them both running for roughly an hour, playing through the thing three times. I'll have a look into it. 🙂

Just watched this the whole way through! Great project, and the presentation is well executed.

I massively appreciate the subtitles since I have a hearing loss. The labels on a lot of things were quite enjoyable to see, and it's great that you've got the flexibility to do some line drawings here and there. All this extra information really adds to the experience.

The only issue I ran into is that sometimes the audio would change volume rather drastically from scene to scene (even if I pan around 360 to see if it's because the source of the dialogue changed), but keep in mind I'm only listening to what's coming in through one side of my headphones.

Thanks for making this!

Thank you for your kind feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I included the subtitles because of two reasons:
1) For anyone who doesn't understand English very well and needs to read along.
2) For mobile apps I always assume that there's a large part of people, who play it without sound, so everything needs to work even without audio. 🙂
I happy that you could enjoy the app better through the subtitles.

The volume changes because of the 3D placement of audio sources, depending on the distance of camera position and character. It adds a little to the immersion in some cases, but I can see that the volume differs a little too much in some cases. I hope that it's still acceptable!

In any case: The 'Titans of Space guy' likes it... that makes me very happy. haha

I attempted to play this, but after the first conversation between Holmes & Watson, it crashed and rebooted the phone.
I might come back and try it again after I've tried more of the other projects.

Thank you for trying! 🙂
For future reference: What setup did you use? Kitkat or Lollipop? Thanks! ❤️
