Mr. Isis is a platforming game designed for the Oculus Rift.
The player can look to the left, right, up and down. This changes the orientation of the level. Changing the orientation opens up new paths for the player because the player character is limited to two dimensions in a three-dimensional world.
The player controls the game using a keyboard or Xbox 360 controller.
SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
When the player looks to the right, the level turns around, opening up new sections for the character to walk on. The character is restricted in two dimensions and the player needs to figure out the correct path by looking at the level from different orientations.
Mr. Isis is created by students of NHTV Breda studying game design. We enjoy working with the Rift and are looking into the possibility to create more content.
Here is a video of some gameplay. Again, the player can only move in two dimensions (left and right, up and down), and has to use the Rift to be able to traverse the levels.
The character and environment look great, but the platforming mechanic is slightly off....The spider (tri-der) uses too much area. Take a humanoid biped instead. Platforming works much better with something tall and slender.
And Magnetometer Correction from the VRMenu would be a great addition.
