I participated in the Leap Motion 3D Jam with Soundscape VR
I want to participate the Mobile VR Jam with the same concept but with major changes: - audio engine completely rewritten / optimized for mobile - multiplayer mode / jam together - new instrument - complete new environment design / Unity 5 PBR + GI
Would this work with: "You can reuse existing art and assets to help speed up development time, but entries that you previously submitted to other contests or publishing sites will not be eligible, including direct ports from Oculus Share."
I'm living in the United States under a work VISA (O2) valid until 2017. I'm natural from France, but the last time I lived there was 10 years ago. Am I legally eligible to participate on the VR Jam?
@quince: You can't just take the same game and port it for a submission. However, if you take the idea and make significant additions to make it work for mobile VR, I believe that should be OK.
@quince: Also LeapMotion cannot be a required peripheral for judges to play and judge your submission. All judges will have a gamepad and access to any Note 4 + Gear VR input mechanisms.
Do I need a Gear VR to be able to receive Unity Asset Store credit?
In the submission window, it says; "Please enter the email address used to login to the Gear VR you are using. This account can be one used on a borrowed device and is only required as a validation mechanism to receive Unity Asset Store credit if you have selected Unity game engine above and otherwise qualify. See FAQ for details."
It was expressed that no purchase was necessary previously.
Can I just use an Oculus ID here which is not connected to a Gear VR device?
Regarding the Local HW Hubs of the VR Jam , the mail just received states :
"If you want to see your city included on this list, and your organization is willing to host a Gear VR for your community, please message the moderators of the competition."
I can not seem to find a list of competition moderators..
I am also curious about how to apply as a tech hub for the competition, more details would be greatly appreciated.
Another question I was curious about is that the rules say that each team member needs to have an Oculus ID. I think out of all the people currently on my team I am probably the most familiar with the game jam and the Oculus Rift so is it possible for one person to represent the team for the game jam? If not, then does anyone who has contributed any small thing require an Oculus ID (such as story and concept art that has been developed in the past) or only the people actively working on the project during the competition?
