Is there any chance the scores for 'Innovation' and 'Promise' will be released to the public?

Haha, I doubt that. I do wish "Promise" had been "Playability and Execution" instead, but it would take quite a bit of time to sift through 200-300 APKs. VR-specific setbacks and successes are hard to evaluate in 2D.

seriously doubt any scores will be released... that's opening a can of warms no one wants to see. we just have to take it as it is and move on... some will continue their projects... others will just take it as a learning experience, and some of us will just scrap the project and move on to something else...

We still have the community choice awards, it's still a long shot, but at least we got unity asset credits of $50.00 and a chance to do something cool like this. I'm going to make mine into a phone app to show my friends. Good luck to all the finalists! Also, we had a good run, cheers to all the projects like me that didn't make the cut! There are a TON of great projects that didn't make the cut. We should be proud we got here. 😄

Congrats to all the finalists!

For those that feel left out, get those games in the Oculus Store.

Yeah, definitely keep in mind that the first panel judges not picking a project for whatever reason doesn't mean it wouldn't be successful on the Oculus Store or elsewhere.

Yikes! The court of public opinion? The cruelest mistress of them all.

I hear ya. I am a little upset too. I wont get into details, cause that is not constructive in any way... but there is a plaque in a mental hospital somewhere that reads:

Not all that belong are inside, and not all that are inside belong 😞

thats how I feel 😞

Yeah exactly how I feel. Some in there I'm very happy they got in but some others that I compare to others for "innovation and future potential" and I wonder what they were smoking or if they simply didn't check the others.

Anyway, 2am here. Enough effort for this jam. Completely desmotivated right now.

I feel exactly the same about it, but sadly that is how contests always work. Especially if the didn't even play the games for the first judging round.

But hey, I had a great time, learned alot and I upgraded my portfolio.

I agree its a list of apps that simply haven't been played and the experience on a few is alot less than in the videos...i feel for the devs who have great working builds that don't make you throw up as soon as you put the headset on...i won't mention apps of course, but i suppose this was always the risk of competition that makes finalists out of ideas and videos rather than being tested before hand.

Yes some ideas may be great, but if you can't realize and implement them its worthless to the end user...but good luck to the ones that do work and are fun to use!

Everyone else who didn't it, don't give up, finish your project, release on the Oculus store, there will be plenty of people wanting to play your game/app, only a 1/3 of my fav games i'd be willing to pay for a full release for are in the final

Yeah, I've learned my lesson. On a VR Jam is better to focus on hiring a sexy voice, pay some guy to do your marketing material and videos and pay less attention to the development until the last minute. It raises your chances for qualifying as a finalist although your product may be a half finished single level demo.

I think it is very clear who the winners will be, because of the selected, only about 5 are fully ready. The others I tested (I probably tested 100 on the past week) and that were mostly complete/ready for store/ are not even on the list!
