You need to do three things... 1 Go into the Oculus settings and check "allow USB connection" ... and then you have to disable Google drive, and any usb connected devices, and finally use a USB to usbC connector so that you can use a USB A to USB C c...

I"ve pretty much worked out the problem ... i Could not get it to work and tried various USB-USBC cables and restarting mac and quest and eventually realised that its a shared driver issue... you have to switch off anything that talks to USB or exter...
