The firmware update is installed in the actual Oculus headset. Didn't
you see the headset light blinking when the firmware update was being
installed? That's where the actual firmware is planted.
Sorry. I've never heard anyone using that term before. I haven't a clue
what is AVX and if my i7990 or new i9 cpu has that. Too techie for me.
But in any case, you are most likely correct in that dept.

ASUS P6T mobo with a i7990 CPU and 8GB of Corsair triple channel memory
to a ASUS PRIME B460-PLUS LGA 1200 Intel B460 mobo along with a
i9-10900F CPU and the a massive amount of RAM...
I wouldn't hold my breath on what the tech replied to me. He may have
been just been trying to get rid of me in the support chain. Pulling my
chain more like it.
