The play area rectangle actually is oriented to the new recentered
orientation. In other words its edges align with the new orientation's
axes. So every play area rectangle is a totally different rectangle from
the previous alignment and cannot be us...

Same exact problem here. Stage mode is useless as soon as the headset
goes to sleep and wakes up in a new position. As of now the system needs
recentering every single time the device goes to sleep. Extremely
frustrating.
2 years later I'm still struggling with the same issue. I suspect it's
using the play area, which is a rectangle fit on the boundary points.
