I had a support ticket open for my CV1 Rift with a red screen spot for
about a month. Oculus has had my defective return for about a week. I
haven't heard from them since before they got it. Today I noticed a
partial refund ($599 of $629) to my card....

Well, they told me I'd get a replacement, then refunded me at random
without saying anything to me for over a week. I contacted @cybereality
yesterday; he did reply a few hours ago and let me know they wouldn't
charge me again, so I bought one from B...
It sounds like you might have a short in the cable or a bad connector or
cable end. I think you should send it in for RMA ;). So, in other words,
say goodbye to it for 6-8+ weeks, lol.
This is very interesting, thanks for posting. I hope Oculus can make a
statement about it here. I wonder how many of us have this problem? I
certainly do. Working with support now.
