I think if you press the left controller menu button(the "three
horizontal lines" one), it will put you into an empty environment with
dash open in front of you. If I understood your request correctly it's
pretty much what you're asking for.

I would recommend Dell over Lenovo but CV1 over Dell. It was my
subjective experience but of all three, Dell had highest visual fidelity
and was most comfortable to wear. But all things considered, CV1 is
still a better package deal for the price.
