Isuck with vr setup any elite dangerous user help me get going?

Im pretty sure I have all the software needed... virtual desktop, sidekick, headset uptodate/with beta version for better graphics, correct link cable..I just never used vr b4 and I feel like a super boomer right now...

there is a nice sweet spot but unless i strap my elite strap down to where I feel a pulse in my head can I keep it... pretty lame...
