The petition is great in theory but the company that Oculus had making
the cables went out of business so there are no more being made.
Bringing another company online to fabricate more cables is likely too
expensive to be worthwhile for them.
Your laptop isn't VR Ready. Which means that the displayport jack
doesn't go to the 1050Ti, it goes to the Intel HD integrated GPU which
isn't compatible with VR systems, any VR systems.If you load up your
nvidia control panel and pick the physix tab...
The jack on the Rift S is only stereo, it doesn't have the 3rd band for
Microphone. You're stuck with the Rift mic thats built in or you need to
buy a somewhat spendy bluetooth mic.
If you get a TB > Displayport dongle A-N-D when doing so, that setup
talks directly to the discrete GPU in the laptop and not the integrated
GPU, then yes, it'll work fine.
