Finally finished this project with this original combat mechanic designed as a mobile only game! It's a fantasy adventure turn-based RPG where you spell words to attack the enemy. Clear each floor to earn XP, more health, and of course LOOT! The game starts out easy while you familiarize yourself with the mechanic. Then you start earning armor and weapons to take on higher floors. Use potions to recover HP, and scrolls to summon up to 2 extra letters at a time. This progression system was by design made to be addictive and challenging tracking 4,700+ data points and a custom word engine using JSON files for precise adjustments to difficulty for the 3 player archetypes: casual gamer, the dedicated gamer who put in their time, and those gamers who choose to pay-to-win. Custom leaderboards use World Persistent Variables which allowed me not to track just scores, but also what words earned them their ranking (after filtering out 500 words to stay appropriate to general audiences). Snowy Townlet - Winter Aurora Hey guys, I've just finished my world called Snowy Townlet - Winter Aurora I have tried to fit everything I can do, into this build, so I would love some feedback! It's just me, and not a team of people, and every single mesh you see there has been had made by myself in Blender and painted in Substance painter. Thanks, DesignerGirl_UK90Views2likes2CommentsStar Central
I've made my new Star Central VR world public for anyone who would like a peek. https://horizon.meta.com/world/775774868524152/?locale=en_US This is a huge world about the Milky Way at many different scales from the solar system, to the closest stars, to the local interstellar medium, to a Gaia map of hot star density out to 6 kpc (20 thousand light years). It even has a walkable map of dwarf galaxies in the outer halo. It is still in beta but now I am basically just putting up posters, looking for bugs and working on a video trailer. I hope that it will be done next week. I might enter it into the contest but I am still not sure. You can get a basic idea by looking at it on your mobile phone but this is an immersive 3D world that really shines in a VR headset. I have been entering worlds into the mobile contests this year but won nothing. The Star Central world is my form of rebellion that uses the huge potential of Horizon Worlds to create amazing immersive 3D worlds. You can leave Star Central itself in a starship and travel to many other star systems. You accumulate points that show on a leaderboard by visiting the cartography room in each star station. Don't miss the Star Cinema and the Star Style clothing store. You can even get space suits in the clothing store! I welcome feedback. Please respond here.135Views2likes5CommentsGiant Robots + relaxing music
Hello! I'm a new Creator. I painstakingly assembled primitive shapes in the Desktop Editor to piece together my giant robot design. I can't wait for the updates and the new game engine so I can more easily import custom models from other software! I composed the music myself. It's intended to give a calm yet slightly eery vibe. I'm content with the result. The design which inspired the model in question is a giant robot guardian/sentry named BOKTIN. He is frightening in appearance, but very misunderstood. Because importing custom models is unfeasible (again, I'm really hoping the new engine solves this!) the vegetation, terrain, and textures were all generated. As soon as I get my hands on the more robust engine, I'll have a field day with custom models. Looking forward to it! <388Views1like3CommentsAztec Rush
Previously, I introduced a world I had created 'Runaround Rush'. While I was happy with how the gameplay turned out, I felt the environment deserved a more immersive touch beyond simple shape based obstacles and flashing colours. So to elevate the experience, I duplicated the original world and created a set of Aztec themed assets that breathe more life into the play area. I’ve made these assets public in case they inspire or enhance any of your own creations. You can check out the new world here: https://horizon.meta.com/world/69013511085672547Views1like1CommentParts-Based Animation System
Hello! I'm Todd, AKA Scarcesoft. I've seen a few people asking about importing animated characters into Horizon Worlds, and while this isn't yet possible for us regular creators, I've developed some tooling which makes it possible to have Blender-animated characters in your world now which are nearly as good as the "real thing" within a few minutes or hours, depending on the complexity of your character. I've used this system to animate goblins, xenomorph-like aliens, spiders, and more. You can see examples in the playlist below. Within the next few days I'll be releasing the next series which will cover best practices for how to separate existing characters into parts in a way which doesn't make them look silly. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUvQxgmNxn_K_ldPvYo_6NdrK7b33ZSCp&si=gHeRxr9ZMeGFVoyH59Views2likes0CommentsCoconut Island Challenge - staring Maja Papaja 🍹.. and a question
Hi, I'd like to share another Horizon World I've created and published last month. It's called Coconut Island Challenge and the goal is to catch and grab as many coconuts within 2 minutes. You can play it solo, with the goal of collecting many coconuts and unlocking new things such as the golden flowers. Or multiplayer, where you play against others and the person that collected the most coconuts in a round wins. I've created most of the models, like the trees, island, flowers, etc. in Blender. Since it's mainly a multiplayer game one of my goals this time was to have something to do for players that end up alone in this world. So I created some fun grabbables like the coconut drink and flowers. And also added the sweet NPC character Maja Papaja, players can talk to her and she sometimes gives helpful hints and advice. This way solo players won't feel so alone on the island 🌴while collecting coconuts and maybe they build a personal connection to her, resulting in return visits. Link to: Coconut Island Challenge or search for it on the headset. For Mobile, VR and Web At the moment the world isn't that popular with less than 150 total visitors since creation, so after the newly announced competition I'd love to create a big update, maybe someone here can help with the following. Question: What are some things I could add in the future to keep solo players entertained and playing? At the moment I have: - Golden flowers as an ultimate goal after collecting 500 golden coconuts, which increases the player's speed while holding the flower (multi + solo). - Leaderboard with total wins (multiplayer), and collected coconuts (multi + solo) - Possible to climb the mountain after winning a certain amount of rounds (multi) - Find the giant golden coconut (solo) - Quests board with challenges Thanks.265Views5likes2Comments
