Coconut Island Challenge - staring Maja Papaja š¹.. and a question
Hi, I'd like to share another Horizon World I've created and published last month. It's called Coconut Island Challenge and the goal is to catch and grab as many coconuts within 2 minutes. You can play it solo, with the goal of collecting many coconuts and unlocking new things such as the golden flowers. Or multiplayer, where you play against others and the person that collected the most coconuts in a round wins. I've created most of the models, like the trees, island, flowers, etc. in Blender. Since it's mainly a multiplayer game one of my goals this time was to have something to do for players that end up alone in this world. So I created some fun grabbables like the coconut drink and flowers. And also added the sweet NPC character Maja Papaja, players can talk to her and she sometimes gives helpful hints and advice. This way solo players won't feel so alone on the island š“while collecting coconuts and maybe they build a personal connection to her, resulting in return visits. Link to: Coconut Island Challenge or search for it on the headset. For Mobile, VR and Web At the moment the world isn't that popular with less than 150 total visitors since creation, so after the newly announced competition I'd love to create a big update, maybe someone here can help with the following. Question: What are some things I could add in the future to keep solo players entertained and playing? At the moment I have: - Golden flowers as an ultimate goal after collecting 500 golden coconuts, which increases the player's speed while holding the flower (multi + solo). - Leaderboard with total wins (multiplayer), and collected coconuts (multi + solo) - Possible to climb the mountain after winning a certain amount of rounds (multi) - Find the giant golden coconut (solo) - Quests board with challenges Thanks.201Views5likes2CommentsIntroducing Myself + Meta Horizon World Showcase - You Shouldn't Be Here
I'm Aisjam, and I'm looking forward to be part of the Creator Program. Thank you for having me. I've spent the last decade working in immersive technologies, mostly with Unity, and I've recently been exploring whatās possible in Horizon Worlds. Iāve been doing a few experiments and wanted to share one that combines psychological worldbuilding with large-scale testing. https://horizon.meta.com/world/9726743030747447 This world is inspired by real-world research from Sandia National Laboratories, where scientists explored how to deter future civilisations from approaching nuclear waste sites. Their solution wasnāt based on language but on shapes, materials, and emotional cues that create an atmosphere of dread and unease. So I built a massive, ominous environment, a 4km diameter circular map. Using a fully custom mesh to simulate that experience. Itās designed to feel wrong, empty, and imposing, without needing to explain itself. A few things I learned along the way: Tiling textures on large polygons fade or break down visually during the experience, so texture scaling and optimisation are crucial. The platform handles large spaces fairly well, though optimisation becomes increasingly important at this scale. I'm really happy with how the sense of scale and isolation came through, especially at the centrepiece. I also plan to bring in some of my synthesizer soundscapes to deepen the experience. Found its a struggle to import audio loops so did some sample stretching with the default ones. I've been creating ambient and atmospheric sounds that would fit perfectly in these types of speculative or unsettling environments so we will see what the future holds for sound on meta horizons. The world is now live if youād like to check it out. Iād love any feedback, especially from those interested in, environmental storytelling, or experimental space design. Looking forward to connecting with you all and sharing more creative ideas!428Views13likes1CommentOrion City

Hey folks, We published a beta version of our party game, Hook n Loot, and would love to hear any feedback. FYI, it is much more fun with 2+ people. I will try to hang out in the World for the next few days so that you can hopefully see the multiplayer mechanics better. We're trying some innovative mechanics, and don't mind getting a bit roasted -- any feedback is very much appreciated š https://horizon.meta.com/world/673919352465241/?hwsh=V2G6FiNuAH&locale=en_US251Views2likes0Comments
