CPU Question for the Rift S
Hello Everyone in the VR world,:) I ordered my First Oculus Headset about 5 days ago and I am camping out at my Mailbox waiting for it to arrive :D I own a Vive but wanted to give the Oculus world a try. Anyway, I was looking over the required Specs for the Rift S and it recommends a AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or greater. I have a AMD Ryzen 7 1700X. I went to a online computer Parts Compare site called UserBenchmark.com and if what I saw is correct my Ryzen 7 should work. Am I correct? I know more than most when it comes to computers but when it comes to CPU's I get a little lost. Is my Ryzen 7 1700X going to work for me? Any Feedback is most welcome B)
Is there an adapter to connect the display port?
So I think I majorly screwed up: I bought the Oculus Rift S to play Vr chat, I looked at reviews online about how it was the best brand new model, But when I got it I noticed the port and the adapter is not compatible with any of the ports of my laptot (an Asus ROG). Is this for real? is there an adapter to connect it to my laptop? I feel very dissapointed and angry since all the reviews I read or the product description never said anyhting about this port issue. If the vr is going to need a special port that's the type of thing that should be mentioned for potential customers.
Am I Rift S Ready
So, I tried using the Oculus check software and it told me my i5 9400x and 1660 were not compatible, but the specs said the recommended was 1060 and this is better than that. Am I missing something? Also, does the Rift S work well with SteamVR and is it good for someone who wants to get into VR?
Oculus Setup - Install Blocked, AntiVirus - RunCheck 'Dawn.Preflight.CpuArchitectureCheck' failed.
Hi, I am trying to install the OculusRuntime but it keeps saying Install Blocked due to some antivirus. I have turned off everything but the problem persists. Now regardless of whether its on or off, the log keeps saying : RunCheck 'Dawn.Preflight.CpuArchitectureCheck' failed. I am uploading the full log for your reference. MACPRO 5.1 Xeon W3690 bootcamp Win7
Hi, We are a 3D ArchViz company and we are currently using Macpros 2008 withXeon CPU E5462. We bought a Rift but the CPU is not compatible with the minimum requirement. The OS is Windows 7 with a Nvidia GTX980 We have the opportunity to get a couple of MacPros 5.1 2012 with E5690 XEON cpus. Way faster than ours.. We were wondering if those CPU were OK to run the Rift ? Very little infos are available around.. Thanks a lot for any helps.. QUICKIT
