Battle for Steel city Universe
For the past year, I've been building a 5-6 world universe. Currently, I have Zone One and Zone Wars live, with Zone 2 and Zone 3 in progress. The initial Zone One project started as a proof of concept—an experiment to see what was possible. At first, it was just an awesome build with no clear idea of how to make it immersive or retain players. Given the complexity of Horizon Worlds, I knew Zone One might appeal more to an older crowd. To help new players, I created a Mod Team to run Steel City and guide newcomers. It worked for a while, but with the long development times of the other worlds, we may have lost some momentum. With our latest addition, 5v5 Zone Wars, I was hoping for a big rollout and strong traffic, especially given Zone One’s popularity. It’s only been a week, so I’ll give it a month to see how things progress. The success of Zone Wars will determine whether I continue this massive project or shift focus. Looking ahead, I’ve learned what works in Horizon and how to streamline experiences. My goal is tomake things easier to understand and more engaging. I plan to create experiences and mini-games under the Battle for Steel City brand to build retention, grow an audience, and establish a universe that can sustain itself with community involvement. This year, I plan to release Zone 2 and Zone 3, along with Zone Racing and an inner-city sport called Blitz Board. There will also be several cinematic story experiences, including rescue missions, defense missions, and the epic battle for Steel City. Exciting times ahead—let’s see where this journey takes us!775Views54likes3CommentsIntroducing Myself + Meta Horizon World Showcase - You Shouldn't Be Here
I'm Aisjam, and I'm looking forward to be part of the Creator Program. Thank you for having me. I've spent the last decade working in immersive technologies, mostly with Unity, and I've recently been exploring what’s possible in Horizon Worlds. I’ve been doing a few experiments and wanted to share one that combines psychological worldbuilding with large-scale testing. https://horizon.meta.com/world/9726743030747447 This world is inspired by real-world research from Sandia National Laboratories, where scientists explored how to deter future civilisations from approaching nuclear waste sites. Their solution wasn’t based on language but on shapes, materials, and emotional cues that create an atmosphere of dread and unease. So I built a massive, ominous environment, a 4km diameter circular map. Using a fully custom mesh to simulate that experience. It’s designed to feel wrong, empty, and imposing, without needing to explain itself. A few things I learned along the way: Tiling textures on large polygons fade or break down visually during the experience, so texture scaling and optimisation are crucial. The platform handles large spaces fairly well, though optimisation becomes increasingly important at this scale. I'm really happy with how the sense of scale and isolation came through, especially at the centrepiece. I also plan to bring in some of my synthesizer soundscapes to deepen the experience. Found its a struggle to import audio loops so did some sample stretching with the default ones. I've been creating ambient and atmospheric sounds that would fit perfectly in these types of speculative or unsettling environments so we will see what the future holds for sound on meta horizons. The world is now live if you’d like to check it out. I’d love any feedback, especially from those interested in, environmental storytelling, or experimental space design. Looking forward to connecting with you all and sharing more creative ideas!476Views13likes1CommentMusic and Instrument Creation Worlds
I have been building musical tools and instruments to be played and learned on within Horizon worlds for most of my 3 years on the platform. Now that I have new tools and a renewed interest in what is possible, I am looking for people to collaborate with who may or may not be official “Partners” to help continue to build out the School (already roughly started and published) as well as individual and group performance and practice worlds and gamified Q&A worlds for people those learning Basic, Intermediate and Advanced music theory for VR and Mobile / Web. There is a long list of people who have helped me to get to this stage but almost all of them are now working for Meta, so I am looking for help programming (typescript and codeblocks) as well as the Blender and Unity design skills. https://horizon.meta.com/world/635734825774919/?hwsh=WqtICPpIZ5 Check out Berry Berry Nice VR Music School in Meta Horizon WorldsSolved413Views24likes3Comments
