UE4 switch eye rendered to spectator screen
Hi there, I'm working with a DK2 in unreal engine, and I really need to figure out how to change which eye is rendered to the single eye spectator screen so that I can record some footage. There are a few modes which show both eyes, but all the single eye modes default to the left eye and for my application I absolutely need it to be the right eye. I saw this post on the unreal forums about editing .cpp and recompiling for the Vive, but I have no idea what files I would have to go about editing for the DK2, or how to recompile anything. Not allowed to post links so the name of the thread is "Problem about monitor resolution display in vive vr mode" if anyone is curious. Essentially it just says to edit the line of code relating to the `DrawRectangle` function and changing the values so it selects a different area to crop. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me. many thanks, H915Views0likes0CommentsMythos and Showdown Will Not Launch (Sends me back to Oculus Home)
This past weekend I ended up getting a DK2. After 2 days of issues trying to install the latest Oculus runtime I finally got it to install and work after reformatting my computer (1 of the 2 days was wasted trying to get Windows 7 to update). So far I have downloaded and installed 4 games that support VR natively. So far 2 work and 2 don't. Lucky's Tale works flawlessly as well as Ethan Carter VR (on Steam) with SteamVR. But I am having issues with launching Mythos and Showdown (Both are UE4?). Both are downloaded and installed. When I try to launch then through Oculus home it takes me to the initial warning screen that has you either press 'A' or hover over the bottom to launch the games. Doing either of those things instantly sends me back to Oculus home. I have tried deleting/reinstalling, rebooting etc. Nothing works. Always get the same issue where is sends me back to Oculus home. Just wondering if anyone is experiencing a similar issue or has any idea on how to resolve it. My specs are: All stock clocks: Zotac GTX 780 Amp Edition Intel i5-2500K Gigabyte B75M-D3H 8GB Ram Crucial 250MB SSD Windows 7 Professional SP1 Latest Oculus Runtime (Downloaded and Installed Aug 7th)786Views0likes1CommentWhy I can use only specific version of Oculus runtime?
I can use any runtime version except 0.5.0.1 because of unknown reasons. I have Oculus DK2 that was bought in December, 2015. I want to combine Oculus 0.5.0.1 and UE4.9 OR coerce Oculus to work with most modern SDK/runtime. (1.6 is last, isn't it?) The last is much more preferable. I just want to discuss why it could happen, what should I do, and get some links or files which may allow me to use OculusVR in more adequate way. p.s. I used an "Dr. Kaii's Oculus Runtime Switcher V3" , to determine ability of using each version. p.p.s Is it true that "version of runtime" and "version of SDK" are interchangeable in meaning? p.p.p.s The weird fact: for a little time I could use 0.6.0.1, but something was not working, (I don't remember what exactly) and after updating my firmware (to 12th) I loosed an ability to run 0.6.0.1. :-)528Views0likes0Comments[SOLVDED] [UE4 4.11.1 / 4.11.2] Problems getting sample content
Hey there! This is my first post in this forum and I hope it won't be the last one. I'm new in developing for DK2 and UE4. The only thing I've installed it's the UE4 Version 4.11.1 / 4.11.2 and the new Oculus app (latest runtime). In the Oculus app I can do many things, I can play games, have friends, etc etc, but in Unreal Engine I can't do anything. I'm trying to follow the documentation from UE but it must be outdated or something like that. When I open a blank project with content sample, I try to open the VR level but it doesn't appear. I also have tried to download the ShowdownVRDemo but it doesn't work on my DK2. The thing is I can't check the option of "VR Preview" and the Oculus Rift checkbox is marked on the plugins page. What I do to enable it is: Edit->Plugins->Virtual Reality->Check "SimpleHMD"->Reboot editor->"VR Preview" is enabled-> I play it-> Can see the doubled screen in my computer but not in the Oculus HMD. I've tried ALT+ENTER, commands, and everything but still doesn't work. I need help! :P Thank you in advance! [SOLVED] Ok, new runtime fixed it all. OMG you can't imagine my happiness right now!1.1KViews1like3CommentsPositioning issues with Unreal4.1.1 + DK2 1.3 on Windows 10
Hi, In Unreal 4.11.1 the VR preview is having some issues. The following happens: The camera position on the Z axis is really low, almost at ground level When I am rotating my head horizontally, the camera has a weird panning motion. This was also happening with the old 0.8 SDK on windows 10. I've heard about other people having this issue as well, but couldn't find a solution anywhere. This is the link to my bug post on the unreal forums ( no answer yet ): https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/401730/bug-firstpersoncharacter-blueprint-oculus-issues.html Any help would be greatly appreciated.
