Sideloaded files are not accessible on Quest device until after restart
Posting here as it has to do with Quest devices with developer mode/usb debugging enabled to sideload files. When sideloading videos to a Quest device, a video is not accessible to apps like Meta Quest TV or others (Skybox, Play'a, etc) until after the device is restarted. Further, files/images, are not accessible on the Meta Quest Files app as well initially after sideloading. The only resolution is to restart the device to make the files appear. Device details: Device: Quest 3 Quest OS version: 68.0.0.596.362 System version: 50111700065800510 Device: Quest Pro Quest OS version (PTC): 69.0.0.303.335 System version: 50436710027900330 I'm able to replicate this on Quest Pro and 2 as well.
Developer Mode
I posted this in reply to another thread, but realised afterwards that that issue was marked as resolved, when it clearly isn't. I have a Quest 2 and a Quest 3, and I'm attempting to create an app, so I need developer mode enabled. Developer mode is working on the Quest 3 but not on the Quest 2, so I took the advice I read here and raised the issue with support. When I contacted support about this issue, they said the following: Hello, Thank you for reaching out. Our team assists developers with app administration, review, compliance and enforcement-related issues. We do not support any type of account-level issue, including issues configuring developer mode on your device. You can find the instructions for setting up developer mode here: https://developer.oculus.com/documentation/native/android/mobile-device-setup/ We recommend checking our developer documentation for possible solutions. If you are unable to resolve the issue or have additional questions, please post in the VR Developer Forums (https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Developer/ct-p/developer) even if you were directed here from there, as our fantastic community of developers often have worked through similar issues and archived the information. Have a great rest of your day, Vance Oculus Platform Operations and Developer Support None of this helps, and is contradictory to what we're being told here, namely that support can/will help with this problem. It seems this issue has been ongoing for around two years. Is there ever going to be a fix for this, or do I throw my Quests into a cupboard and try to find a working system?
Developer Mode Quest Pro
Hey 🙂 I bought a Meta Quest Pro because I would like to develop some small projects for these glasses. I'm also very excited about the device, but I've already encountered a more or (I hope) less big problem pretty quickly and hope you can help me here. The issue is that I can't get the glasses properly into Developer Mode and thus connected to my PC or the app. I have tried many different ways, downloaded software updates, used different cables, worked with the app and dev hub, run power cycles and rebooted all devices, but I have not been able to solve the problem. I always get to the step where I have to allow debugging via USB on the headset. I remember this from the Quest, where it worked fine, but on the Pro this prompt just doesn't appear for me to give my permission. After some searching, I came across a thread here that also describes exactly this problem and where in the further course, quite current is written that there is a solution for it...can you help me find this solution? I have already looked around a bit in the forums as I said and ended up here: https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/Quest-Pro-Developer-Mode/m-p/994506 I had then written to the support chat, as well as the mod from the forum entry, both of which unfortunately could not help me directly, but forwarded me to the PM of the meta support and they forwarded me to the consumer support and this page... i would really appreciate if someone can help me... It also works really everything great, except the last step "allow access". When I connect the headset via cable to the pc, there is a nice sound, but no window to confirm. [Feature Request] Camera and Depth raw data access through USB ADB connection
I know there have been plenty of other posts requesting access to the camera feeds from the Quest devices, and I understand the privacy and potential PR issues that might arise from giving apps access to the raw feeds from the cameras. I know Passthrough Over Link exists, but it's not the original data. What I don't understand, however, is why the raw data isn't accessible through a wired ADB connection... Wouldn't it be possible to enable access to the raw data of each camera and the depth sensor through a wired ADB connection, without exposing it to apps running on the device? Akin to what is done for screen capture as described in https://creator.oculus.com/create-build/capturing-video-from-a-quest-headset/ I'm interested in using the data for my university research, but the lack of access to it is rather disappointing.2FA and Developer account
Hi! I have a problem. 6 or 7 months ago (I can't remember it clearly) I added an organization and tested it. I could use developer setting so I installed an app with side quest. but after this time, I signed to my account again to install our first app, but found lost my developer access. I tried to use 2FA (via text service and Google Authenticator app) again, text service not working, also I had my first setting on GA app, however did it again. now I need this access to test our attempts, to install this app. I requested a friend also to send an invitation and I accepted it to join his organization as a developer but we couldn't fix it. I'm a nurse that our team is working on an app with medical field (simple games for autism children) so I hope you help me, we spent a lot of time, money and etc..., to get this experience so we hope that can help humanity.
My headset wont connect to the app while being paired
So i’m trying to enable developer mode on my quest, but when i go to the device section on the app it keeps saying last checked *time*, and then flashes connecting a bunch, then goes back to last checked. I want to be able to make some games in vr and play them on my Quest, but whenever I try and verify my Developer account by text, the text never sends. No matter what phone I use, it just won't send. I could really use some help, I've been stuck on this for like a week now.
