Elite Dangerous joystick not working only in Quest 2 VR
So, my brother recently purchased the Quest 2, specifically to play Elite Dangerous and DCS. He is experiencing a very strange problem that I have not been able to help him with after trying everything I can think of. If he plays ED on his PC monitor, everything works perfect. But when he launches the game in VR, none of his 'axis' controls on the Thrustmaster T16000m HOTAS function. While in VR, he can go into the Control options and map the yaw, pitch and roll axes, and the game recognizes the inputs, but when he returns to the cockpit, moving any of the axes does nothing - neither the throttle or the stick move when operated. All other "buttons" on the Thrustmaster work fine. It's only the axis controls that do not work. Any ideas appreciated.5.8KViews0likes7CommentsAnyone actually successfully used an Oculus Quest (link) via Bootcamp on a Mac out there???
Hi, I would like to get a Quest but would sincerely like to know if anyone has been successful running a Quest via Bootcamp and Link on Mac OS. I have an iMac with decent specs and I can't afford to buy both a Quest and a gaming PC. Plus I don't have room for another PC. I want to play Elite Dangerous VR and Eve Valkyrie VR on a Quest, plus of course be able to show friends Beat Saber and Super Hot on the go. Love Elite Dangerous and it would be INSANE to play it in VR! Any help or insight from folks who have actually RUN a Quest on a Mac via Bootcamp/Link much appreciated. I have little hope, but hey you never know. Thanks in advance! Sincerely, McKay Stewart3.3KViews0likes4CommentsElite Dangerous won’t start
I just purchased and downloaded Elite Dangerous through oculus store. After I clicked the game trying to start it, nothing happened and the home room reloaded. I tried reinstall it but still the same. I went on tried to start it using the three dot option, start in desktop mode still nothing happened. I looked up online and someone said he downloaded frontier launcher from frontier website and it worked, however I didn’t purchase from their website and couldn’t find a way to download the launcher. Please help! Thank you!4KViews0likes7CommentsCan't get Elite Dangerous to work...
So I have my copy of Elite Dangerous that I purchased directly from Frontier back when the game first came out. For the life of me I can't seem to get it to work with the Rift. Is there some sort of trick you have to do??? In the Rift Home Library I have the switch for "Non-Home Games" flipped to on. In the game, I go into the settings->Graphics and I set it for VR High quality level. I start the game up from the icon on my desktop (it doesn't show up at all in the Rift home library), the game comes up on my monitor, but when I put on my Rift all I see is a message saying that EliteDangerous64.exe is taking a long time to load. That's it... What am I doing wrong? Ideas?794Views0likes2CommentsCV1 VR experience on a budget coming from using a Mac = not cheap! (edited)
In January my GF (better half) ordered the 'rift' as a present for a significant birthday. Fabulous present. The CV1 is due to be delivered here in the UK late May early June - later than expected but I can wait... I can wait as I don't own a PC (the billgates variety) having survived on Macs since the 90's - Long story short I want to build a PC to the run the CV1 I've not a lot of money and merely want the PC to run CV1 VR, no need to install anything other than a couple of games inc Elite Dangerous which I'm lead to believe won't run on anything less than a GTX980? It's been a while since i built a PC but understand priorities for VR are; GFX card, CPU, Motherboard, Ram and SSD? I'm especially interested in buying a good motherboard and CPU to last a few years and a quiet PSU with the knowledge that a graphics card can be updated when the lottery numbers come in (-: If anyone of a limited financial situation can suggest some quality components merely to enable Oculus Rift CV1 to run well I would appreciate advice, specs and maybe a link or two. Oculus have promised voucher codes to buy a CV1 ready PC but I'd prefer to DIY inside a discrete sound proofed box, without blue, red, green led's etc ... plus it would probably be cheaper to DIY1.8KViews0likes19CommentsElite Dangerous VR 2.1.03 w/latest Oculus Drivers -> RESET HMD utility stopped working
Hi, After installing the latest Oculus Update after being prompted by Oculus Home, it had completely disabled the "Reset HMD" command which is critical to run Elite Dangerous VR properly. At the start of the game I always use this command to reset the position of my pilot in the cockpit so that all the instruments are properly positioned and the pilot sits in the correct height. After the update the Reset HMD command doesn't seem to be working. Resetting/repositioning the sensor also doesn't solve the problem. I'm running Windows 10 64-bit. The system was working fine and 100% reliable prior to the update. I have also opened a similar thread in the Frontier Elite Dangerous VR forum and it seems other Rift owners are having similar issues. Any suggestions? https://product-guides.oculus.com/en-us/documentation/rift/latest/concepts/rgsg-3-ts-setup-troubleshooting/#rgsg-ts-software-troubleshooting Do I need to open a ticket?364Views0likes0Comments
