GearVR Splash Screen crashes into black on "Open Level" UE 4.18.3
Hello. I'm using Unreal Engine 4.18.3. - Target Platform is GearVR / Android. The App/Game crashes into a permanent black screen after the SplashScreen. The First Map/Level works, but when we try to open the next Map via the Open Level Node, the App gets stuck into black. Is there a way to fix it?847Views0likes1CommentBug - IAP failing for some test users on Rift and GearVR
In-app purchases are failing for some of our test users at the payment stage. Just after entering the PIN, they receive the message: 'Request not complete' 'A problem occurred when trying to complete your request. this can be caused by entering incorrect information or trying to complete an unauthorised action' The payment information and PIN are definitely correct. I have just verified this with a newly made test user account. IAPs are still working correctly for other test users in our organization using the same app build. Can you help, please?1.3KViews0likes1CommentGeneral Questions (new developer)
I just got asked to order Oculus for a Unity project. It will be for Computer and cellphone (mainly pc) with the occulus hand controller (not gamepad). I dont know much about Oculus other then what I read on the page and on wikipedia in the last 10 min. My questions are: What do I need in order to start developing and showcasing. Do I need Both a developer kit and a "normalkit" for pc? Do I need to buy a Developer kit for mobile as well, part from the Developer kit for Oculus? The handcontroller is compatible for both ? If you have any other useful information you feel Ive missed, feel free to add that. Thank you!728Views0likes1CommentVirtual Reality for scientific outreach
Hello, I am a physics PhD student from King's College London and I would to do scientific outreach using Virtual Reality. I am new user to VR and I hoped you might be able to give us some initial information to get started. Hardware: Our target is to simulate astrophysical events from our simulations. We hope to get simulate movies (> 15 models/sec) of models comparable to https://skfb.ly/Z8DH (~383.2k faces, ~194.5k vertices). The main question for us is whether we should invest in a Oculus rift or just use a simpler setup with a mobile phone. We hope to use money designated for outreach, so we have to argue why we should spend such a significant amount of money for a Oculus + Compatible PC instead of a mobile phone with a simpler Gear VR. Software: We are using coding daily for doing science, but we have never used it to work with VR. We have a set of .obj files, which we extracted from our data. What kind of software would be best to create a VR - movie from these files which we could use for outreach -events ? About us : Two years ago gravitational waves where measured for the first time (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-36540254). This is one of the most significant discovery of this century and opened a new window to explore our universe using gravitational waves. To say the least, we are very excited about this discovery and hope to share this excitement with other people. Our group specifically does simulations of astrophysical events which we hope will cause gravitational waves. These events are the most violent ones in our universe, examples are colliding black holes or neutron stars. We produce these simulations using supercomputers. We hope to use Virtual Reality to visuale these events to show these very violent and fascinating events. any help would be appreciated best Thomas Helfer853Views0likes1CommentNeed to submit a Gear VR app and an Oculus Rift app with the same name. Possible?
We're deploying a build across CV1 and the Gear: same piece of software, same functionality, same experience - the only difference is the CV1 version has higher quality assets. The dashboard will not let us create a new entry with the same name. But both apps need to be called the same. How do we do this?1KViews0likes3CommentsCamera jitter in Unity 5
We're working on a new build of End Space and we've been noticing this weird camera jitter showing up sometimes. It consistently shows up at the end of a level when the level end GUI pops up and causes all the GUI elements and the cockpit to shake. It also appears at other seemingly times but then usually just on GUI elements. I recorded a video to show you what I mean: https://youtu.be/nhgLI8nai_0 Has anyone else experienced the 'jitter bug' (now you've got this stuck in your head, right?) or does anyone know what is causing it? It's present in Unity 5.3.5p7 and 5.4.0f3 on Rift and Gear VR1.6KViews0likes2Comments"Under Review" to "Changes Requested" - Normal times?
Hey What's the normal time I should expect this process to take? I have several of the latest test results fixed, or so I hope I do, and my app has been stuck in "Under Review" for several days now. Is that normal? I've contacted the submissions@oculus email account requesting the status change as well. Twice. What's the normal process? Is it like 7 days later and it auto-switches back to "Changes Requested" so we can upload a new build with fixes??532Views0likes0Comments
