In this series of videos by Andy Sargent, Game Developer and Community Manager in Unit 2 Games at Meta, explore how mechanics, loops, and progression combine to create fulfilling and social worlds that players will love. Session 1 - Mobile Mechanics Explore how mechanics are a fundamental building block for virtual worlds. Mechanics empower players to interact with the world, and each other. You can think of these as player actions second-to-second. Session 2 - Core Loops Investigate core loops, which build on top of our understanding of mechanics. They are a combination of mechanics that support a repeated sequence of player actions in the world. You can think of these as player actions minute-to-minute. Session 3 - Retention Look at ways to encourage players to come back to our worlds using retention mechanics. You can think of these as player actions day-to-day.

I was wondering if such a thing exists or if maybe we should get one started here. Feels like I've been learning the hard way that creator tools—e.g., Meta Horizon Worlds Desktop Editor—and official documentation include features that aren't available to everyone. Here's what I've gathered so far... For the typical creator: No wearables No importing animations Are there any other restricted features to add to the list? Also, does this list already exist somewhere?183Views0likes0CommentsBlender to Horizon Worlds Exporter
If you want to try and make it easy for people using third-party objects, and just want to get them into their worlds, I think that's where my add-on comes in. I've imported a fair few things now, and so have three beta testers. It works really well with the fixed sketchfab add-on as well, all under Blender 4.3.2. Hopefully, this will get spread by mostly word of mouth. ---- Blender to Meta Horizon Worlds Exporter A Blender add-on that prepares and exports 3D models for Horizon Worlds (HW). This tool simplifies the process of optimizing, baking textures, and exporting FBX files. This isn't meant for experts. It's meant for people who are just wanting to get some objects and textures into HW very quickly. I will fully admit if you want to get fancy, you're still going to have to take the time learn the true in-and-outs of how Blender and HW need to work together, to get the best results. This is just something to let you hit the ground running, and get some Tri-Mesh into your world(s) very easily. What it exports are not necessarily the best they could be. Features One-Click Export – Automates the entire export process. Texture Baking – Generates properly named _BR and _MEO textures. Decimation Tool – Reduce vertex count using a slider. UV Smart Unwrap – Automatically creates UVs if missing. FBX Export – Ensures correct format for Horizon Worlds. I've got a world called - Blender to Horizon Worlds Exporter - That can be bookmarked. There's a weblink for when you're chatting about it in HW, with a long and short URL. Either searching my name FairFight14 or bookmarking the world will help remember where to send people. I'd give a URL here - but it was blocked.3.6KViews40likes14Comments🎥 New Office Hours Recording - Importing Assets
