"Dynamic" Spatial Anchors
Is there a way to track the virtual position of a real moving object with the Quest? For example a ball that is rolled across a table (example). Alternatively does anyone have guidance or examples of using one of the quest controllers (maybe the Quest Pro controller is most relevant for this) or some other sensor that can interface with the Quest to get its position without necessarily being held in the user's hand? My use-case is to track a physical robot in mixed reality so that I can display robot relative visualizations (e.g. LiDAR) from the correct coordinate frame / pose.1.1KViews0likes3CommentsDowloading localization at runtime
Hello 🙂 Is it allowed to download a csv file containing the localization for the game in runtime? This would allow me to update and expand the languages without uploading a new build and I couldn't find any guidelines against it so far but, as it could also count as a content update, I could also imagine that a new build upload is required by Meta. Thanks in advance 🙏1.4KViews0likes1CommentLocalization top 10 languages to increase VR sales
Hi, This is my first post in this nice community. We are planning to release our first video app container really soon. "VR Horror Stories" main language is English even if 90% of the video app has no dialog. The VR experience is mostly happening in dark environments with creepy spatialized 3D sound. We decided to limit the subtitles to 6 extra languages. Does anybody has any recommendations as which extra language subtitle would be best to use? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your valuable input! Links to members484Views0likes0CommentsHow to handle localization (i.e. languages)?
I'd like to add support for multiple languages to our app (especially Japanese, as John Carmack pointed out that the Go is selling like hotcakes there). But I'm having trouble figure out how to do that in the "Oculus" way. This page in the SDK docs seems to suggest that there is something called "Language Packs" which the user can download and install on a per-app basis. How do I create and upload one of those? And then, once I've gotten an ovrLanguagePackInfo in my app, how do I use it? The docs only show me how to get the name/code of the language, which isn't super useful, unless I'm meant to bake all the strings for each language into the app itself?692Views0likes1CommentLocalized Achievements
Hi! We have our achievements sorted out in English, but for an international release, we would like them to be localized for various territories (such as EFIGS). How does one go about doing that? I can't find an option to enter the text in other languages, or even to define which languages the game will support.502Views0likes0Comments
