Update 20.0 - what's the deal?
Hi folks, My Meta Ray-Ban Gen 2 have just updated to software version 20.0. The update description just says "bug fixes and performance updates". As someone who works in tech, jumping whole integer (19 to 20) in software version numbers usually signifies a large update. Sadly, I still don't even have the features that were supposed to be in 19.2 - hyper-lapse, longer video recording etc. What. Is. Going. On. Meta?
Newest update is Trash
When I drive before the update, I can play music CarPlay and record at the same time. Now it pauses the music. Also when I picked the one press default to take videos, when I put it in the case and use it again, reverts back to taking a photo. It’s so frustrating. The previous version was way better. Meta please fix asap. It’s unusable and annoying. I don’t even want to use this anymore. anyone else having this same issue? I read one person is also having this issue so far.
Quick Connect no longer available?
For the past couple months I had been using Quick Connect to send photos to WhatsApp using the touchpad. It was very convenient not always having to talk to send pictures. I tried using it today and the feature was just gone? I haven’t found any documentation saying that this was removed so is it an issue on my end? I understand that some features are rolled out randomly but I’ve never heard of features being taken away. Does anyone else have this problem?
RayBan Meta Gen 2 - Hyperlapse & slow-mo issue
I’m experiencing a problem with both slow-motion and hyperlapse modes on my Meta smart glasses: When I say "Hey meta, start slow-mo" the glasses start recording, but the saved video plays back at standard speed, not slow motion. When I use hyperlapse, the final video is made up of stacked photos (which seems correct), but the playback is extremely choppy, like there’s no smoothing or post-processing applied. What I’ve already tried: Factory reset the glasses multiple times Reinstalled the Meta AI app several times Changed region/location and tested with a USA VPN (I’m based in Malta, EU) Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix? Hi! I have been using it daily since October and I love the day to day with it on my updated Android. This morning I ran into a problem: the microphone on my glasses stopped working on my phone. My main case of wearing glasses is still using them as a headset for calls and sending voice messages. It is updated to the last version available. I've tried factory restoration (also unpair and re-pair) and nothing. I already had a first generation with a very similar problem, but there it was possible to remedy the problem by activating an option in the app settings. However, we do not have that option here. Anyone else with this problem and/or solution?Meta Ray Bans Suggestion
Suggestion: I have a hard time reading textbooks, and recently I have been using Meta AI to read a page to me (which is helping me a lot), however, it would be cool to have a dedicated way to have Meta AI read the book out loud without having to cover a previous page for it to capture the next page.Instagram not showing up in connections for Meta Raybans?!
I have looked everywhere and can’t seem to find a fix for this?! Instagram isn’t showing up in connections at all? Any ideas? And no it’s nothing to with the language I’ve already tried that theory. So in frustration, I sat in my car at 1AM to try and figure out this BS update that ruined the glasses feature that EVERYONE LOVED! Here’s my work around. META if you’re watching, attention, pay attention to this. For IOS 26.2 users (most recent update) While your in the car connected to Carplay Settings -Bluetooth -Click the i next to your Ray-Bans -Click Disconnect -Your metas should make a sound to acknowledge it’s disconnected from your phone Then you can play music and record at the same time. -Youll most likely have to repeat the process every time you get in your car until Meta gets their ish together.
