I put in the code, and it said an error occurred, Generate new device code. Now i tried again a few days later, after that error happening many many times, and now it says the account I'm using does not match my purchases and stuff on my oculus account, saying I'm using a different account, BUT IM NOT. i really need help because I can't play any games.Solved278KViews87likes134CommentsCan't add a second user to my Oculus Quest 2

Please help if you can. I have an Oculus quest. I have an oculus account -that's how i can post here. I also linked my Facebook account to my quest years ago. No issues. Now there's been a update 4.6 overnight and I am blocked from using the Quest without migrating to a Meta account online. Every time I try and select to continue with Facebook , it actually pulls out all my facebook email details and then tells me 'Something went wrong, no confirmed email address on file for this account' and to Log Out. Have tried multiple browsers and through my phone but to no avail. I am locked out of my quest and wanted to get some Tribe XR djing done tonight. Appreciate anyone who may have an answer. I get a pop up saying "Meta Quest" Wants to Use "meta.com" to Sign in. I click continue, but when I try to log in it using my email, it does nothing. The same Login screen pops up asking for my email and password. It just keeps going in a infinite loop. I am making a new Meta account and I have never had a Facebook, Instagram, or Oculus account. Anyone know how to fix this? I'm at part that requires me to pair my Quest 2 with the Meta Quest app.Solved92KViews16likes63CommentsAuthentication should be required to switch to the admin account on Quest 3
I've created two supervised child accounts, I've added both accounts to our one headset (Quest 3). My account is the admin/parent supervisory account. When I go to the "switch accounts" interface, I can select either child account. But once I'm in that child account, I can just click "switch accounts" and become the other child or the admin without any prompt for passcode or any other kind of authentication. This defeats the purpose of enabling parental controls on the child accounts if they can just switch to the admin account at will. I must be missing something obvious, but I can't figure out how to keep account switching limited for the non-privileged users. I've enabled the headset passcode, but that's not the same thing. That just gives access to the headset. Once any user is admitted to the headset, they can become any of the accounts that are added to that headset including the admin. I keep reading about some kind of swipe pattern that was used on the Quest 2 but I haven't seen any menu items on Quest 3 that allude to a swipe pattern. I'm sure I'm missing something.Solved9.8KViews13likes27CommentsThis corporation is getting ridiculous. Bring back Home Environments. Stop.
I want to start by saying the micro instant the Valve Steam Frame is released, I will be immediately throwing my Oculus Quest 2, and 3 in the garbage as hard as I can. I cannot stand this nonsense anymore. I do not want to even sell it for the hundred bucks I can make off of it, because I know Facebook will make way more money collecting the intimate, personal data through the inside-out tracking cameras of the next poor sucker that uses one of these things. Facebook has done nothing but shoot itself in the foot over and over and over, month after month with absolute zero public favor as a result. Besides the VR Youtubers glazing and reaching as hard as possible to find a teeny tiny positive thing with each quest DownDating. (The opposite of updating) This is probably something I'm going to be banned for, but I do not care. My data being deleted from Facebook will be an absolute win. I have loved this corporation so much for its VR hardware from Palmer Luckey, and software for the first 4 years of its existence. Then it went to garbage. Removing home environments and forcing users to constantly use their headset at full tilt (100% GPU/CPU usage) at all times. This is the exact definition of bloatware. The new homes look horrible, I don't want a bunch of fake NPC's that cosplay losers, that jump around my forced meta horizons slop environment. Why would you undo all that progress making those environments, they were literally the only cool thing left. This is clearly malicious, what are you even gaining from doing this? While I'm here, i'm going to mention the state of Oculus Link. There is no oculus link anymore. it is completely non functional, its been 3 years of the exact same loop. One week it will work flawlessly, then after a 'meta link' update, it goes right back to having zero functionality. It will finally work for no reason, then like magic clockwork, an 'update' comes out, and it no longer connects, no longer has audio, no longer has depth perception. This is clearly a deliberate method to push PCVR players away from high fidelity pc titles, into their standalone horizons slop. I have put so much god forsaken money into this company through 99% ad revenue and personal data collection, and about 1% transactions and purchases. I've put about a thousand+ dollars into this to be abandoned and forgotten. Facebook no longer allows support for their product. Yes. I am not fabricating anything. If you managed to finally dive through the hoops to get to the Serial Number selection screen, it will not accept your number. It doesn't matter what it is, they will pretend they cannot find your box, or your headset, or your controllers and selecting "I don't have a device or serial number" will prompt you to a screen saying "we cannot help users without devices at this time". Genius strategy!! Do absolutely nothing to improve your company, actually, do the opposite. Completely ruin your company over the course of 2 years, completely disable any support for quests, boom profit. TLDR. I will be immediately switching to the Valve Steam Frame the micro-second it drops and throwing away all my Oculus Quests in the garbage due to a complete failure, lack of trying, and constant malicious attempts to screw the Quest users over at every possible turn. Stop updating, or do it right. Expect the automatic bot comment from Facebook to be the first comment, using the perfect words to get you to shut up. Actions speak louder than an automated bots words, act like normal people for 20 minutes. What are your thoughts, be so for real. Assume anybody shooting this down with zero thought is a metabot. This is inexcusable. Give me genuine reasons to appreciate what this has become. With technical explanations. This is genuinely horrible and you've lost me and thousands of others.371Views4likes6CommentsAbility to Delete Apps from the App Library
Hello, I reached out to the support team, I tried the basic tech support suggestions, turning my meta quest off and back on again, making sure it was up to date, I even reset the whole headset to factory default… nothing has worked, My suggestion/purpose for outreach is that, I want to be able to delete apps from my library, and remove them from my ownership. This should be a feature by default, but it does not appear to be the case. Meta support was not able to help and their instructions did not yield any helpful results. I shouldn’t have to have an App Library cluttered with apps that I don’t use. It should be sleek and clean and filled only with the apps that I’ve tried and actually want to keep, and no the option to “hide” an app doesn’t satisfy me. Hiding means it’s still there, but just in a different category… and that’s not enough. Some apps are bad and it frustrates me to have to see them in my App Library. iPhones allow you to delete content. Any other electronic device has the option to delete apps from your device and remove them from your ownership and even download history in some cases, as if they were never there. Despite the insistence from the meta support team, there was no option from the three dots to remove and uninstall the app. There is the option to hide the app, and see details, and that just takes me to the store page. Please add the ability to delete apps. Or provide an update for the software/headset to delete apps completely from the App Library/account. It’s very annoying to have a cluttered library. And again, I’m not satisfied with the hide option. I want the apps gone! Thanks.586Views4likes5CommentsMeta Quest 3 Black Screen After Logo and Firmware Arrow — Hundreds of Us Have This Problem
Many Meta Quest 3 owners are experiencing the same serious issue after what appears to be a faulty firmware update. The headset starts normally, shows the Meta logo, then displays the down-arrow firmware symbol as if it’s updating. After that, the screen goes completely black and never turns back on. This problem has affected hundreds of users across multiple platforms, including Meta’s own community forums, Reddit, and Discord groups. Everyone describes the same sequence: Meta logo, firmware arrow loading, then a permanent black screen. People have already tried every official fix that Meta recommends: Rebooting the headset. Performing a full hard reset using the power and volume buttons. Installing the manual firmware update through the Meta update tool on a computer. Even after completing all of these steps successfully, the headset remains unusable. The issue clearly points to a defective firmware update or a corrupted boot process caused by the update itself, not user error or damage. Some customers have received replacements, while others have been denied support because their device is out of warranty. That inconsistency is unacceptable. A firmware defect that originates from Meta should not depend on warranty status. This needs to be recognized as a widespread product issue. Meta should take responsibility, publicly acknowledge the problem, and provide free repairs or replacements to all affected customers. Everyone affected should post here and share: When the problem started and what update version it followed. Any videos or photos showing the black screen sequence. What Meta Support said or offered in response. If enough reports are collected, this could draw the attention of consumer protection agencies, the media, or legal firms willing to pursue a class action. The goal is not to complain, but to get a fair solution for everyone who has been left with a bricked headset due to a faulty update. This issue is not isolated. It’s widespread, and it needs to be addressed now.775Views3likes7Comments
