Link cable Screen tearing/pixelated horizontal lines
I wanted to share my experience in case someone else runs into the same issue. Ever since I upgraded to my new 9070 XT, I’ve been having serious problems using my Oculus Quest 3S with the Link Cable. The headset connects normally and everything runs smoothly for the first 10 minutes or so, but then heavy visual artifacts start appearing inside the headset: horizontal pixel lines with wrong colors or stuck frames start appearing and it quickly becomes completely unplayable. If I unplug and replug the Link Cable, it starts working again, but only for another 10 minutes before the issue comes back. I spent over a week in contact with Meta Support, both through WhatsApp and email, working with their specialists to try every possible fix. We went through basically everything: uninstalling and reinstalling GPU drivers, using DDU, cleaning the system, changing cables, switching USB ports (all 3.0 or better) and even doing a full Windows reinstall. Unfortunately, nothing worked. In the end, since they couldn’t solve the problem, they added some credit to my Oculus account as a small compensation, which I appreciated, but it obviously doesn’t fix the issue. The problem disappears completely if I swap my GPU back to my old Nvidia RTX 2060, the Quest 3S works perfectly fine with that one. So this seems to be an AMD-side issue. My specs: CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X RAM: 32GB DDR4 GPU: Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 9070 XT MB: Asus Rog Strix B550-F Gaming (wifi) I’ve already contacted AMD support as well, but they haven’t been able to give me a clear answer so far. I'm not the only one experiencing this issue, i also found this thread with the exact same symptoms and these reddit posts with similar issues (1, 2, 3) At this point, I just wanted to share this so other people are aware this might happen. If anyone else with a Radeon 9000-series card has seen something similar, I’d really like to hear about your experience.157Views2likes5CommentsV81.1034 latest release now detecting usb 3 as usb2
So, having updated to 5131230.22000.520 on 29th Oct, I noticed performance was slow - noticable lag connecting over the link cable. Previous build was fine. I then ran a usb test and it appears its now detecting my USB 3 connection as USB 2 and in the link software I know have an exclamation mark telling me to try USB 3. Its telling me my link speed is 340meg. So i wonder if some regression has crept in the release and now we are missing USB 3 support. Note my pc is AMD chipset based. Nothing else has changed on PC. Meta really do need to do a far better job of testing against pc's !!! its not the first time we've had major issues.356Views1like24CommentsOculus 2 Link Cable not registering being plugged in

After the recent v.81 update my Quest 2 headset has become fully paperweight due to the meta PCVR-LINK issues. I use my headset only for PCVR and ever since the latest update came out my headset gets recognized by the app and all but whenever i press to connect my link in the quest 2 pop up it just gets stuck on the Meta loading screen with the 3 dots but i hear the audio from my pc. It has NEVER been like this, whatever you guys did with the update rollout you clearlt havent tested it enough or you're forcing people to buy your newest equipment for the money. Its been nearly 10 days since this bug happened for me and numerous other people across Reddit, Discord, even on this website here. ISSUE A HOTFIX AND PATCH THIS.116Views1like2CommentsLatest Update broke performance completetly again - Oculus Rift S
Hello and Good morning, Unfortunately the latest updates (28th and 29th of September) had a huge negative impact on the performance of my oculus rift headset again. I use the headset for DCS (Digital Combat Simulator) and it worked very well. (pixel density 1.4 , DLAA, no filters or efects). The refreshing rate was always high, the vision was good and the performance stable with no stutters. But since the last Two updates, the refreshing rate is very very low, stutters , lots of ghosting. Even a setup to low the pixel density , without DLAA or DLSS or without any AA related techiqes , the refreshing rate is still the same: stutters, ghosting - makes the simulation unplayable. I can confirm that the only thing that was changed was the update by META. Drivers are updated so the only thing I can do is praying for a better solution from META service or please (and I think much better): The possibility to have a "rollback" function and the freedom of using the best driver without forced updates. So META-Team: Your update made my Rift basically un-useable. Please provide an update in order to have it functional again. I was a very happy Oculus user since years but I really do not understand what your team did the last t 4 weeks. Any kind of help would be more then welcome. Thanks TOM61Views0likes2CommentsMeta Quest Link completely broke on the latest V81 System update.
Hello, my Quest 2 updated today to v81. Since the update, every time i try to run the Link software it boots me out of it, back to the Immersive Home. EVERY TIME. I did a COMPLETE reinstall of Quest Link too, two times! And it just refuses to work! Yesterday I was playing fine, what is the problem?250Views2likes9CommentsLink and Air Connection
How much longer can you continue to mock your customers? Why does every update to the PC app break both the cable and wireless connections? Okay, there's a problem, but why isn't there a way to revert to the old, working version, or have you just broken it and done with it? I even bought a new SSD and reinstalled everything, including the latest OS, and nothing helped! What kind of attitude do you have toward your fans? What are the chances, in your opinion, that I'll buy another Meta product or recommend it to my friends with this kind of treatment? I'm seriously tired of it.110Views0likes5CommentsLet Us Customize Display Window Aspect Ratio Within Remote Desktop
I hate to be that guy, but does it irritate anyone else who normally uses ultrawide monitors/resolutions that no currently available transformation of the windows that RD uses gets rid of the ugly letterboxing?.... Especially if I ever try to use a virtual display, cause the only two options that feel like they should, at least to me, are on either side of the main display.... I would just love to get a nice, clean window that's the right size, and responds at as low a latency as possible given any possible complications while data streaming, which I already see/feel is getting tweaked regularly.... For me at least, ONE really good main display is fine for now, and what I keep praying for... 😔 It delays the desire I feel to immediately go pick up a third-party pair of XR glasses to tide me over until next fall by at least a few months... As long as this gets stronger/faster, this fills 99% of my needs computing wise, desktop considered.36Views1like1CommentMeta Quest Link has poor performance or freezes
Hello there. I am getting poor performance when I try to play a game using the Meta Quest Link. In terms of 5 - 15 minutes, the game starts going slow, blurry, and the vision starts showing some pixelated areas. I already checked if it's something with the laptop and everything is ok. On the laptop, it looks good. The issue is with the app. And every time that switches to VR and AR in the headset, the application goes down a lot. 2 times doing this, and everything just freezes, and later crashes the app in the headset. I hardware is Quest 3 i711800H RTX3070 M.2 storage 32GB DDR4 3200MHZ For the connection, I am using a dedicated connection device (a bridge). The PRISMXR PUPPIS S1. This works by creating a new network where I connect the headset, and it utilizes the shared Ethernet from my laptop. I was able to play just fine, other titles like Half Life Alyx, battle talent, and many other games using SteamVR in the headset like population one, pavlor, sync riders, etc... My network is 400mb/s and my router can support 5G connections. I set 200mb/s the brand connection between the bridge and the headset. This resolves the load times and the poor visual effects and resolution. So, at this point, I think the problem is not hardware or internet issues. I already do the recommended stuff Restart your headset and computer. Update your Meta Quest software and drivers. Disable any firewall or antivirus software that may interfere with your Link connection. Uninstall and reinstall the Meta Quest Link app on your computer. Log out of the Meta Quest Link app and log back in. Try using a wired connection instead of Air Link. Using a cable connection is not an option for me. I am getting this kind of issue, freezing and stopping the meta app. Not sure if the issue is the headset or the desktop app. This video is not mine. But it is the same kind of error that I am facing. What can I do to solve this? I just want to play Hard Bullet. That game doesn't have good support for SteamVR, but it should be good with the Meta Quest Link app. Issue video link114Views0likes1Comment
