PC Link Passthrough Masking Issues After Meta Link Update
First, I noticed that the 'Beta' menu has disappeared from the Meta Link app. The issue I am encountering involves a masking misalignment between 3D content and the real-world background in Passthrough mode. Specifically, there is an offset where a black silhouette protrudes upwards above the content. I am aware that PC Link Passthrough is primarily intended for debugging purposes. However, this is a critical issue for us because our main content relies heavily on this feature. Is there any solution or workaround for this45Views1like2CommentsAccount problem
Hello, although my profile status shows “Good Standing” and there are no restrictions or reports on my account, my wallet in the Horizon Shop is marked as restricted (“due to unusual activity”). According to the message, I should be able to file an appeal – but in my account there is no option to submit an appeal. Could you please check my wallet manually and lift this restriction? Hello team, hope this finds you well. Today a notification prompted that said to put a screen lock on, with different options i.e pin or pattern, i chose pattern. I set a lock pattern and turned my meta Quest 3 off. Upon turning it back on i find out that the lock pattern design has been changed completely from a 9 dot (basic unlock pattern) it changed to a octagonal shape thingy (I have attached a picture of the lock screen and the changed pattern design) Which only consists of 8 dots which can be seen in the picture, so its practically impossible for me or many others users having same issue to login with the pattern we set. The only option it has is forgot password, and the only thing we see once we click on it is a guide to factory reset the meta quest 3 because thats the only solution according to it. I request the team to work on this lock pattern bug and let us know ASAP if theres any solution to it. (Picture attached) (Publishing from a different meta account than that in meta quest 3) regards Zxytro1.3KViews8likes22CommentsQuest 3 tracking system death?
my friend has had this quest 3 for a while, since launch, but recently it has decided to stop tracking. it full on is acting like its in a dark room but doesnt say it. it wont track the headset or controllers, factory resetting it didn't help and they did it many times but still, nothing. my last resort to try and help is to go here before fix my oculus, because its out of warranty, and pray its not an expensive repair69Views0likes8CommentsWhy does Meta allow charging to resume with just “OK” if debris could cause fire risk?
I understand that Android’s detection system cannot reliably distinguish between simple power fluctuations and actual debris or moisture in the charging port. I also understand that, for legal and safety reasons, Meta must disable charging whenever there’s a possibility of debris, since a malfunctioning battery could pose a serious risk. What I don’t understand is why charging is allowed to resume immediately after clicking “OK.” If there truly is debris in the port, this behaviour could put users at risk of battery malfunction, overheating, or even fire/death. Meta should not be placing that responsibility on the user with a single button press, particularly as many users are children. Proposed solution: Charging should only resume after the system detects that the cable has been removed and reconnected, ensuring the user has physically checked the port for debris. Once charging is disabled, the headset is already safe. Instead of blocking the entire screen with a disruptive popup, display a small message in the corner: “Charging disabled until port checked for debris.” This would allow users to continue playing uninterrupted for as long as the battery allows. Currently, Meta requires users to click OK to resume charging, which undermines the safety intent by encouraging them to bypass the warning just to finish their game. After a few seconds, replace the message with a simple battery icon to indicate charging is paused. Charging would only resume once the cable is disconnected and reconnected. If the battery runs out, to avoid the risk of the user missing the message, have the unit blink orange then green to indicate that charging cannot continue until the port has been checked. Benefits Maintains safety compliance by ensuring users physically check the port before charging resumes. Improves user experience by removing the intrusive popup and replacing it with subtle, persistent indicators. Balances awareness and immersion - users remain informed without having their gameplay disrupted.19Views0likes3Commentsupdate breaks quest 3 tracking
my quest 3 had good tracking before i updated it on Tuesday (nov-25) now i have a buggy device that cannot track even when i have my room light on. my warranty is expired and i have tried everything the support bot has given me and, when making a support ticket there is no option under headset regarding tracking. I am all for tips or tricks that i can do, and if someone can find a way to rollback to a previous update that doesn't require me to use the setting menu in the headset im all ears.142Views1like9CommentsFIXED: Quest 3 Locked After Setting Password Instead of PIN - NO Reset Needed
Problem: I accidentally set a password (e.g., "Meta Quest") using the hidden Android settings on my Meta Quest 3. After that, the headset asked for a PIN, not a password -- and there was no way to type letters. It looked like a factory reset was the only way out. Solution (No Factory Reset!): You can unlock your Quest and reset the passcode using the Meta Quest mobile app, even if the headset is stuck at the PIN screen. Step-by-Step: 1. Open the Meta Quest app on your phone (Android or iPhone). 2. Make sure the app is connected to your locked Quest headset. 3. Tap Menu > Devices > Headset Settings. 4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Passcode. 5. The app will prompt you to enter a PIN -- but it only shows a number pad, so you can't type your password here... yet. Workaround: 6. In another app on your phone (like Chrome, Notes, etc.), type your actual password -- for example: Meta Quest 7. Copy the password to your clipboard. 8. Go back to the Meta Quest app's PIN entry screen. 9. Paste your full password into the PIN textbox (yes, even though it shows a number pad). 10. Hit Enter -- your Quest will immediately unlock, and you can now set a proper 4-digit PIN. 100 percent working on Meta Quest 3. No factory reset needed. No debug mode. No PC. Just the Meta app plus this trick. Hope this helps others!732Views1like5Comments- 191Views0likes21Comments
New drivers are required for Meta Quest Link
I've updated to the latest, non-beta for both the newly named 'Meta Horizon Link' software as well as the Quest 2 now on v83.0. The Meta Horizon Link software doesn't seem quite finished and ready for prime time. I have a persistent beam across the top of the app stating "New drivers are required for Meta Quest Link. Update now" - When I click "Update now", the app shuts but nothing more happens. I've waited several minutes thinking it might be doing something silently - it isn't. I then reopen the app which is a preceded by a 'Repair' screen. Getting back into the app, I see that same "Update now" button, click it but now it fails because the required services were stopped in the previous attempt. I restart the services and then the app, click the "Update now" button and we're back to point 1 with it closing the app and nothing happening. I've tried completely removing the app and its registry amends using Revo Uninstaller so I can completely start with a clean slate and the issue persists after a reset and re-installation. Is there a download url to the most recent link driver outside of the app available? Or is this a false notification due to a naming mismatch between the link driver and the newly named Horizon Link software? Many thanks in advance.1.5KViews4likes28Comments
