Left Controller Non-Responsive
So I own a Meta Quest 2 and my younger brother owns a Meta Quest 3 and within the same week we noticed both left hand controllers have mysterious decided to stop responding. By stop responding I mean the controllers won't respond in any manner and will not even turn on after batteries being swapped for brand-new ones, resetting connected controllers and pretty much every possible step recommended that I've seen online. Does anyone have any magical fixes for unresponsive controllers or have we wasted over $1000 CAD on these right-handed head bricks?13Views0likes1CommentUSB-C Port Disabled, water and debris - there is none. Probable Hardware Issue?
There is something inherently wrong with the Quest 3 USB-C port. Anytime I attempt to charge the device while using it, I get a pop up and it starts beeping a warning saying that the USB-C port has been disabled for dust and debris. There is absolutely not dust or debris. I know this for a fact because I exchanged a unit with a new one, took it straight out of the box with no liquid or dust in sight - and the brand new unit does the same thing. I am using the most current software / firmware as of September 2024. This may be a hardware issue as it appears not everyone gets this issue. I’ve seen Meta marking several of these as solved when it isn’t, which makes me believe that this may be a known hardware issue. Hopefully meta fixes the issue in future production.11KViews4likes42CommentsHow do I set up Casting from a child’s account?
We’ve just purchased a quest 3 for my child for his Birthday, we’ve managed to set him up a child’s account supervised from my account (I won’t ever be using the device but set up my account just so I can manage his), but we can’t seem to cast to a tv/phone so we can watch him play? He asks us questions whilst he is playing, but we can’t help as can’t see what he’s doing, it says in order to cast we need to log in as me on the headset but then he wouldn’t be playing on his own account and wouldn’t be safe. Could you please let me know how we can set up casting from his account? Many thanks 😊Solved17KViews28likes44CommentsQuest 3s pairing issue
Each time I attempt to setup and pair my Quest3s I have a pop up window in the glasses which suggests "pair your headset with the Meta Horizon App to continue and goes onto say open the latest app .......and provides a code if I have trouble pairing. The only other option at the bottom of the pop up window is headset managed by your organisation. No matter what I do I am unable to get around the window. I have attempted 2 full factory resets a software update and even removing the OVR files to restart. The Meta app suggests that my headset is active and connected. However with the window always up in the glasses I am unable to load any VR games.35Views0likes4CommentsQuest 3 WiFi connection takes down internet
Hi folks. This may sound like a weird one, it does to me. But I am a fairly experienced IT professional (retired) and I cannot figure this one out. I have a pretty standard router in my house (TP-Link AX1800). There are lots of different things on my property that use the WiFi and all of them work perfectly fine all the time, unless my ISP goes down. Now, enter the Quest 3. I used to use the Quest 3 connected to a different WiFi on an access point router. Then life got busy and I did nothing with the Quest 3 for weeks. However, it was plugged in. I do not know exactly when the problem started. Here's the problem: I can have many different devices on my home network just humming along. Then, as soon as the Quest 3 connects to the WiFi, all devices in the network lose their internet access. If I turn off the Quest 3 WiFi, the network will return but it will take a while, I am guessing because it is probably reconnecting with my ISP, or something like that. Does anyone know anything that could help me know what's going on? I know how to get into my router and I have checked all the available settings. As stated, everything else works perfectly. I opened a support ticket with Meta but I don't know how long that will take or whether they will even address it with me. I should add that the headset has no problem connecting to my iPhone WiFi hotspot. So, I know it's either something in the TP-Link router configuration, or something at the ISP. I have not contacted the ISP yet. I even had a brand new TP-Link BE9700 WiFi 7 router so I set it up and same result. That makes me think it's the headset. I changed mac addressing to Use Device Mac on the headset. And yes, I did a factory reset of the headset, and when everything was re-initialized, the problem still exists. I am lost. Any help, suggestions, I am all ears. I can't think of anything else to check.194Views2likes21Commentsrare registration loop
My Meta Quest is stuck in a device registration loop after a factory reset. The Meta Quest app shows a device with a new device ID, but the Meta website shows no device at all. Because of this, I cannot link my account and I keep getting the following error: Error 1675012 Operation: OCDeviceProfilesManagerSurfaceQuery Message: Device ID must be specified explicitly I need my device IDs manually cleared and re-registered. This cannot be resolved on my side.71Views0likes1CommentNo audio when Casting to my phone via the Meta Horizon app
As the title says, when I try to cast from our Quest 3S to my phone (Samsung Galaxy 25 Ultra), video comes through fine but no audio is cast. Which is an issue, given that we're trying to watch my nephew play BeatSaber and can't hear the music. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling the app, power cycling the headset and phone, ensured both are on the same wifi network, and making sure all software is up to date. I can't find a setting that'll affect it. Thanks for any help you can give!20Views0likes1CommentCan’t pair reset quest 3S. [SOLVED]
the below issue was solved when I clicked on quest 3 instead of quest 3S at the what type of device are you pairing menu. this is insane because it was a 3S I was pairing ! I can’t pair my quest 3S after factory reset. I put in the code provided by the headset but it says visor not found. I tried finding local access in iOS for app but local access doesn’t list meta horizon app even though it’s installed. I tried the move visor far away and bring back but it didn’t work. I tried doing it on website instead of app but website wants an 8 digit code and visor offers a 5 digit code. I can’t get past pairing screen in visor to find actual code or different code if it is wrong. Also want to add that when I put my serial number on the quest web site it said I don’t qualify for support. I would not have purchased a $500 set of VR goggles had I known the company does not provide customer support.83Views0likes6Comments
