air link automatically starting
I not only do not have an issue starting air link... it suddenly starts running without my requesting it. I used to have to "start" link by connecting to the PC which makes it easy for me to choose native vs PC but now (most of the time) when I start the headset it connects to my PC and I'm forced to exit air link. Turning off air link every time isn't the ideal solution so did something change in this last update? Is there an option for "auto start" air link that I can turn off?Solved4.8KViews0likes22CommentsHow do I set up Casting from a child’s account?
We’ve just purchased a quest 3 for my child for his Birthday, we’ve managed to set him up a child’s account supervised from my account (I won’t ever be using the device but set up my account just so I can manage his), but we can’t seem to cast to a tv/phone so we can watch him play? He asks us questions whilst he is playing, but we can’t help as can’t see what he’s doing, it says in order to cast we need to log in as me on the headset but then he wouldn’t be playing on his own account and wouldn’t be safe. Could you please let me know how we can set up casting from his account? Many thanks 😊Solved18KViews28likes44CommentsHow many Meta Quest headsets can be registered to one Meta account?
I need a definitive answer on account to device limits. Use case: I am setting up a small training lab where up to 20 Meta Quest headsets are prepared and maintained under one Meta account for centralized purchases and quick provisioning through the Meta Horizon app. Before I scale, I want to be sure I am inside supported and documented limits. Specific questions What is the hard limit, if any, on the number of Meta Quest headsets that can be paired or registered to a single Meta account in the Meta Horizon app or backend? If there is no fixed numeric cap, are there soft limits, security checks, or rate limits that might block additional pairings at scale? Are there restrictions on simultaneous sign-ins across multiple headsets using the same account, for example forced sign-outs or throttling? For apps purchased through that account, are there known concurrency limits on launching the same title on multiple headsets at the same time, and is this enforced globally or title by title? For classrooms, clinics, or small business pilots, is there an official recommendation on whether to use one account for multiple devices vs separate accounts per device or user? If an official Help Center or developer article already documents this, please share the link so I can follow the supported guidance. What I have tried I have a few headsets registered under one account and everything pairs and updates correctly. I searched the Help Center and forum for device limit, pairing limit, multiple headsets per account, and did not find a clear numeric limit or policy. Goal I am looking for an answer that cites official documentation or a clear policy number. If the answer is “it depends,” please outline the practical ceiling and the recommended setup for 20 headsets so I can proceed without surprises. Thanks in advance. 💙265Views0likes2CommentsOculus/Meta Quest Setup Help
I recently got a Oculus Quest 1 from a friend, but he didn't reset it, so I did. However, now I am stuck since it wants me to enter a 5-digit pairing code into to the "Oculus App". Oculus App doesn't exist anymore and the (now) Meta Horizon doesn't have a way to insert that code. I also have the Meta Link, which recognizes the OQ1, but there is nothing I can do from this side and the OQ1 refuses to do anything else before I can enter that 5-digit code. No "maybe later" or "X" to skip. Is there a way to go around this issue? I would be very happy if someone can help me out with that :C124Views0likes0CommentsRemediation Steps for users blocked in v76 with Wi-Fi 7 Routers
We are aware of an issue affecting some users with Wi-Fi 7 routers/Access Points after the recent software release. Our team is working diligently to resolve this problem, and an updated software release with a fix will be available shortly. In the meantime, we recommend trying the following remediation options to help mitigate the issue: Option 1: Create a new network on the WiFi router with open security and connect to it Note: This option requires creating a new network without any security settings. Please be cautious when using this option, as it may compromise your network's security. Steps: Create a new open network on the Wi-Fi router Go to Wireless setting of your router -Follow your router's user guide for specific instructions Create a new network, provide the network name Keep the security open (in security selection options - choose open or none) Connect any other device like mobile to this new network and see if you can get internet access. This step will validate the above new network is working fine Connect the Quest device to this new network Update the software for your Meta Quest - details In Quest HMD, go to Setting > General > Software Update Check for the new OS (the new OS should be dated April 16 or later) Apply this update This will reboot the Quest device and it will come up with new OS (may take few minutes) Connect to previous network (secured) After reboot, check if the device is already connected to the previously connected network (secure network) On Quest device, go to the Settings > Wi-Fi Settings Check the network name it is connected to If it is connected to your previous network (secured) then it is good If the Quest is not connected to the previous network (secured) and connected to the open network then Press the Connect button next to the previous network (secured) in the Wi-Fi setting This will connect the Quest device the previous network (secured) Delete the open network On your router settings, delete the open network Save the setting (it may restart your router) Option 2. Updating security to WPA3-Personal on the WiFi router. Steps: Update your WiFi router's security settings to WPA3-Personal** Go to your router Wi-Fi settings Note down what is your original security setting (it should be something like WPA 2 etc) Change the security setting to “WPA3-Personal” (There should be a dropbox options) Save the setting and exit (this may restart the router) Follow your router's user guide for specific instructions Reboot the Quest device and it should automatically connect to this network Update the software for your Meta Quest - details In Quest HMD, go to Setting > General > Software Update Check for the new OS (the new OS should be dated April 16 or later) Apply this update This will reboot the Quest device and it will come up with new OS (may take few minutes) Move the Wi-Fi router back to original security setting Go to your router Wi-Fi settings Change the security setting to the original setting (it should be in dropbox options) Save the setting and exit (this may restart the router) Make sure the Quest device gets connected to this network after router comes up Option 3 : Create mobile hotspot and connect to it Steps: Create a mobile hotspot on your device Connect the Quest device to the mobile hotspot instead of your usual WiFi network Make sure the Quest device is connected to the internet Update the software for your Meta Quest - details In Quest HMD, go to Setting > General > Software Update Check for the new OS (the new software update should be dated April 16 or later) Apply this update This will reboot the Quest device and it will come up with new OS (may take few minutes) Move the Quest device back to Wi-Fi network On Quest device go to Settings > Wi-Fi Settings and click on the Wi-Fi network which you had connected to earlier Make sure the Quest device gets connected to the Wi-Fi network Important: Once the updated OS release with the fix is available, you will no longer need to use these remediation options. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue. **WPA3-Personal - Some of the routers may have WPA3-personal and WPA3-mixed mode. In case the WPA3-Personal mode does not work then do the same steps for WPA3-Mixed mode9.2KViews7likes11CommentsTrouble pairing headset to my Meta account - 8 digit code
