Quest 3 stuck on USB Update Mode Loop
A few days ago, I was playing VR table tennis on my Quest 3. I took the headset off for a drink of water, and when I put it back on, the screen went black. I did a forced restart, and it showed a screen with a progress bar. After the progress bar completed, the usual boot animation played. However, once the animation finished, the screen went black again. I forced a reboot again, but this time it entered USB UPDATE MODE. None of the options on the screen are responsive — selecting any of them just brings me back into USB UPDATE MODE. I also can’t connect it to my PC. I’ve seen that others who experienced the same issue were able to get a replacement through their retailer or Meta support. However, I’m located in China and bought my Quest 3 through Amazon Global (Amazon’s international shopping service). The original seller is Amazon US, but the customer service for Amazon Global told me they cannot provide after-sales support for this issue and advised me to contact Meta directly. I really want to know: what should I do in this situation? Why can’t Meta authorize third parties to handle repairs or replacements for cases like this? I would even be willing to pay for a fix — but right now, I’m just stuck staring at my unusable Quest 3, completely helpless.2Views0likes0CommentsView turning 180 degrees on Quest 3
For a few days the view on my Quest 3 has been suddenly turning to the opposite direction every now and then. This occurs in all games. Is this a software bug or a hardware error? What can I do to fix it? There have not been any problems like this before on my Quest 3.7Views0likes1CommentGPU driver update
Dear Meta Support Team, After enduring an incredibly frustrating and time-consuming trial and error process, I finally managed to get my Meta Quest 3 connected to my PC, and for a time, everything worked as expected. However, after a seven-month hiatus, I attempted to use the system again today, only to be met with yet another unexpected and infuriating roadblock. To my dismay, the Meta Quest Link software decided, without warning, that my GPU driver required updating. This is not the case. I have the latest drivers installed for my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, a GPU that is supposedly fully compatible with the Quest 3. Despite multiple attempts to reinstall the Meta Quest Link software, the issue persists. I am beyond frustrated with this situation. The level of inconvenience, especially after paying a significant amount of money for this product and its overpriced data cable, is simply unacceptable. I expect plug-and-play functionality, not to be stuck in a seemingly endless loop of technical issues. It’s deeply disappointing that after such a long period of use and investment, I’m still struggling to make this system work properly. I am not a technical expert, and frankly, I am not interested in spending hours navigating endless troubleshooting chats to resolve an issue that shouldn't exist in the first place. My patience is wearing thin, and I am rapidly losing confidence in Meta's products and support. I would greatly appreciate any assistance in resolving this issue quickly, without the need for further delays or convoluted technical steps. If there is anyone who can help, it would be much appreciated. Sincerely, Jan H14Views0likes1CommentQuest 3 Hand Tracking not reliably starting
Since upgrading to the Quest 3 I'm having trouble getting the hand tracking to start when I wake the headset and when I start an app that uses hand tracking. Frequently when I put on the headset, waving my hands in front of the cameras does nothing. Also at times when the hand tracking is working in the main interface, when I launch an app that can use hand tracking, the app doesn't show my hands being tracked. The only thing I've found so far that seems to work is picking up one or both controllers so they become active and visible--then putting them down when I see the hand tracking is in effect. Unsuccessful things I've tried are changing the hand tracking delay setting, putting it in and out of sleep, and restarting the headset. Continuing to wait and wave does nothing. Previously with the Quest 2, I could just put on the headset and wave my hands, then the hand tracking would start reliably and stay active as long as I didn't start moving a controller around. Everything else about the Quest 3 seems to be better except for this. Is this a new bug that's cropped up in a system update? Something that only effects the Quest 3? A weird change in the OS that expects us to pick up our controllers before hand tracking will start? Is there a fix for this?5.2KViews3likes23CommentsCannot Make Purchases. Hi everyone, I’m experiencing a persistent passthrough distortion issue on my Quest 3 that started immediately after casting. Here’s a summary of what’s happening: Symptoms: Controllers and hands appear tiny in passthrough. Floor grid looks squished/compressed and sits at the wrong height. Cannot properly set floor level—boundary calibration seems broken. Issue is only present in passthrough or mixed reality. Everything looks normal in VR games (no tracking issues). Troubleshooting I’ve already done: Cleared Guardian boundary history. Fully rebooted the headset (multiple times).Re-set Guardian in a clean, well-lit area. Let the headset idle in passthrough to force recalibration. Factory reset via both the settings menu and bootloader. Attempted firmware update (was already up to date). Verified the issue persists without casting. Confirmed tracking and controller alignment are perfect in VR.30Views0likes2Comments
