Hello, As the title says, My quest 3 appears to not charge or charges slowly. Some Back Story I ordered my headset from Currys which is a UK Tech store and have their care and repair; I have had this device for about 9-10 months. As I use the headset for long periods of time, it is connected to a charger a majority of the time, except when I use it to walk between the room with my pc and the room where I use VR. I recently had to get a better, Higher wattage charger; Namely 35W; The cable I use can support up to 60W of power. The reason for a different charger is simple, the Quest 3 one is short and lacks the proper power output for when I need to charge and game at the same time due to the headset reporting slow charging. For reference, I was playing VRChat through Steam link to my PC, I ended up falling asleep due to how exhausted I was due to the flu (Rare this happens), The cable was still plugged in to the port. However, When I checked the battery percentage it was at 5% and had powered itself off. The charger I have is an Anker 6 port charger dock with 1 USB-C port being able to kick out 35w of charging. What's now happening I previously used the quest link feature with a cable from a well-known company that supports charging and playing at the same time, This stopped working aswell. Any charger that gets plugged into my quest become un-usable for other devices such as my phone which reports issues with charging; This brings me to the conclusion that there appears to be a fault with either the charging ports and battery shorting cables OR I'm just really unlucky with cables. The headset seems to report charging and then not charging from a brand new cable aswell. I am curious if the USB-C port has become dislodged or a connection inside the headset has become worn. What I've tried, headset-wise I've done a complete shutdown through the headset by holding the power button down completely. I've checked for any updates - No updates needed I've checked the port itself and can't see any dust, lint or debris inside the port or the chargers I've checked settings to make sure the "Power device when charging to install updates" is turned off. I have not done a complete factory reset. My question is: With the few reports from people with a similar issue, is this a software issue where the headset's battery management has a bug in or is this a hardware issue? I plan to potentially take this into the store for them to take a look. Any advice would be greatly appreciated; I am sure that having the headset on charge shouldn't necessarily cause issues, as I'd expect the software to stop charging to deplete the battery slightly before allowing charge.Solved210Views0likes4CommentsRed blinking light, stuck in an endless loop. (Solved)
(Solved) So uhhhh... I use the wrong charger... I used my phone charger instead of the one that cam with the Oculus Quest 2.... Hello everyone, Intro (don't need to read this) My Oculus Quest 2 has a red blinking light, meaning (what I read online) Its so empty that it can't do anything until its charged. When I use my Quest I plug it into a power bank, sometimes the headset decides it doesn't want to be charged so it depletes and turns off after an hour (maybe longer/shorter, truly no idea). So this time again it didn't want to be charged and the battery depleted completely, even though I turned it off myself. I guess I didn't shut it off properly, because sometimes after turning it off, it turns itself on again (no I didn't press restart). Problem My quest gives a red blinking light, so I tried charging it. But when charging the red blinking light stops after a few seconds and goes solid white (meaning the screen is on). Its trying to boot up... Then the loading screen shuts off again and the light starts blinking red. This just goes on and on whilst its plugged into the charger. When I remove the charging cable nothing, but actually nothing happens. What I tried - Charging it the entire day, (wasn't charged when I came home, also no blinking light) - Pressing the power button whilst plugged in and unplugged. Tried holding, pressing repeatedly None of these helped Questions 1. What the hell do I do... Greetings, Martijn108KViews2likes26Comments
