Option To Disable Oculus Dash
I'm sure this has been posted many times before, but that's part of why I'm posting this as well. I want the developers to hear this as much as possible. Many users, myself included, have had a lot of performance issues since the release of Core 2.0 due to the Oculus Dash. I can personally confirm that the Dash process consistently uses 25 to 30% of my CPU. Processing time that I desperately need back for my games to perform like they used to. Please, Devs. Give us an option to disable the Dash feature. I barely use it, and it severally impacts my ability to play my favorite games. I know a lot of users enjoy it, so I'm not asking you guys to get rid of it completely. Just please give us a way to turn it off, for the players who's PCs aren't quite up to handling that extra CPU load.1.4KViews1like0Commentsoculus home launches randomly at startup
Hi, we have developed a small VR experience with unity and rift for a museum. Just a menu to launch some 360 videos. The experience is unattended. At 10 am the machine starts (config in bios) and then our unity application launches and everything is OK. At 9:00 pm the machine shuts down and that's all. But once every few times, after launching our application, the oculus dash interface stays in front, making our application unusable (the casual passer by doesn't know how to use the remote to launch our app). How can it be that most of the times our app stays in front, but sometimes it stays in the background, with the dash interface in front, when nothing changes from one launch to the other? Thanks for any light on the issue which is driving us crazy473Views0likes0CommentsOculus Dash and Software Applications
Greetings. I’m looking at Oculus Dash and considering some scenarios. I would like for some of the 3D content of software applications to be 3D in Oculus Dash. I would like for users to be able to gesture for some 3D content to lift off of the page or hover from the application into the Oculus Dash space. In Oculus Dash, such widgets could be described as rendering content in inset boxes, cubes, the regions responsive to Touch device interactions and the 3D content capable of moving into the Oculus Dash space. Examples where such features would be useful include design and engineering software and mathematics software which also include 3D visualizations. Is Oculus planning an Oculus Dash SDK with samples? Is Oculus planning on providing VR-specific messages from Oculus Dash to Windows applications (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ff381405(v=vs.85).aspx) for Oculus Dash events and Touch input devices? Is Oculus planning on facilitating 3D scenarios resembling those aforementioned in Oculus Dash? Best regards, Adam Sobieski http://www.phoster.com/contents/884Views0likes1Comment
