The Official Oculus Link cable is not working for me. Anyone else have this issue?
My third-party cable works perfectly fine but I cannot enable Oculus Link with the $80 cable that I just received. The oculus software will detect that the quest is plugged in to my USB-C port, yet I get no pop up to turn on Oculus Link and It wont work manually either because the quest doesnt know its plugged in. I've submitted 2 support tickets with no response. I've also posted on reddit and I found that there are other users with this exact problem. They have also submitted tickets with no response. I'm about to send it back for a refund, but I really want this cable to work.65KViews4likes137CommentsПрекращение работы Oculus Link / Stopping Oculus Link

Eats input
Hello! I've been playing Pavlov with some buds lately and have some issues regarding pressing the trigger buttons rapidly. It doesn't always register and "eats" the input which is crucial in fast paced games like Pavlov. In other words, it misses an input even when clearly pressing the trigger. Any idea why this is happening? As stated above I'm using the Quest 2 and a Link cable connected to an USB 3.2 gen 2 type-C port on my motherboard. My Graphics settings in oculus are: Refresh rate: 90hz Render resolution at 1.3x Cable test shows 2.3 Gbps USB 3 I've measured the FPS in game and it varies from 70 to 90 fps. My pc specs (shortly put): Ryzen 5 3600 @ 4ghz 32gb Ram RTX 2060s (super) *With virtual desktop it works flawlessly but I do appreciate the low latency with the Link cable.3.3KViews2likes7CommentsScreen goes out randomly during a game, audio and in game tracking still works
My oculus 2 screen just randomly shuts off when using the link cable. No warning of any kind. Just bought the cable too last week. Ports are good, connection is a solid 1.4Gbs, and I even use the velcro straps to hold the connector on the headset. Even took some extra straps and kept the cable coiled as it was packed. Game continues to play and I hear the audio no problem, hell the headset still tracks in game from what can been seen on the mirror window on my screen. This only occurs when using the link for roughly an hour. All settings are automatically applied through both the headset and the game. The headset does become warm with use but there is no overheating warning either. No matter what I do, my oculus link won't work. I've tried every fix I could find, even here on the forums, and I can't find a solution to my issue. The only thing I can possibly think it can be is that I don't have a USB-C port in my PC. But then again, I've tried adapters, cables that are USB-C to USB-3.0, and a PCIe card and none have solved the issue. Another thing that happens is when I try to plug my cable in a USB-3.0 port, it either says it's a USB-2.0 or it doesn't say it's plugged in at all (which happens 99% of the time). When it says my quest 2 is plugged in, I go in and follow all the steps that the official Oculus website says to do, and still, the screen will go black and send me back to the home screen. On very very rare occasions it will be on loading and stay there with no end. Can someone help? I've spent way more than I needed to on trying to fix this, and really want to experience what else VR has to offer.947Views0likes1CommentQuest 2 Link: Black Screen (But Sound and Desktop mirror work)
I recently purchased the Quest 2 with the intention of utilizing both the standalone and PC functionalities. While the standalone version works with virtually no issue, Oculus Link has been driving my head through the ceiling and beyond. My equipment: HP Omen 15 Laptop (Ryzen 5 4600h, GTX 1660 Ti, 16gb RAM) Oculus Quest 2 Included Charging Cable as a Link Cable (I am aware that it is a USB 2.0 connection -- I'm only testing at the moment) Here's what's functioning: Upon confirming that I want to run Oculus Link, the Oculus software does indeed open on my desktop. Checking in the devices section tells me that both controllers along with the headset are connected, though a USB 3.0 connection is recommended. Here's what's not functioning: The headset display itself doesn't display anything besides an occasional loading sign along with the guardian boundary warnings (since the charging cable only allows me to hover near my desk). I decided to open VRChat via the Oculus software to see what would happen. Opening the game doesn't display any errors. In fact, when I move my headset around, I can see my desktop version moving around along with the controllers. Sound does come through the Quest with no issues. The display continues its habit of showing the occasional loading sign. I decided to try with the SteamVR version of VRChat. The results are a bit worse and confusing. In all scenarios, the VRChat client loads up frozen on the menu screen (though it is sometimes tilted as if my headset was tilted). The SteamVR window displays one of two things on any given occasion. The first, and most common, is where it shows the headset and two controllers connected, but has an error message above it stating there is a problem preventing it from working correctly. The second scenario simply shows no errors but still remains frozen. Note: I opened both VRChat versions through my actual monitor. Here's what I know: My laptop is capable and supports running VR Both my USB Type A and C are 3.0 and backwards compatible. Here's what I've tried (in no particular order): Restarting my PC Restarting my Quest 2 Restarting the Software Updating my graphics drivers Using Nvidia Control Panel and setting Oculus Dash and other processes to use my dedicated graphics card Trying a different cable (USB A to C through USB 2.0) Here's what I have not tried, but plan to (in order): Reinstall the Oculus Software Reinstall my USB Drivers Factory reset my headset Buy an alternative Oculus Link Cable Give up What I need help with: Based on reading through other posts with similar issues, my guess is that there isn't just one known fix that should work. However, I would like some guidance on what to try or modify first. I just want to play Beatsaber. Appreciate any help I can get! Hi, as i turned out I don't have a usb c port. My alternatives (as I already bought oculus link) are buying an adapter, or adding a usb c port, to my motherboard. As I am not a tech savy, and clearly just buying adapter will be cheaper, my question is, will adapter lower my quality of pc vr ? Will there be any difference ? I am not too sure which, but apprently I need one that is either rated for 3.1 or 3.0. My motherboard is "b450m ds3h" if that helps. Thanks. Also, amazon is not really supported in my country, so I would need to know (when searching by myself) which "thing" to avoid, when looking for cheaper/more expensive adapters. (sry for bad english).1.7KViews0likes3Comments
