Oculus Software showing "Oculus encountered an error..."
Hey guys, so I've been stuck with the red ribbon saying "Oculus has encountered an error. Please restart your PC or contact support". Since many people seem to have this issue, I've been looking through the logs etc. and came to few things: The oculus software for some reason cannot locate the DXGI2 preview package. It says all the graphic cards are capable of it, but can't find the package. "display_diags_status": "Failed", "display_diags_status_value": -3019, "display_diags_active_display_system": "None", "display_diags_dxgi2_preview_capable": 1, "display_diags_dxgi2_preview_available": 0, "display_diags_dxgi2_preview_code": -3019, "display_diags_dxgi2_preview_details": "Failed during detection of DXGI 2 Preview", "display_diags_direct_display_capable": 1, "display_diags_direct_display_available": 0, "display_diags_direct_display_code": -3014, The Windows Event Viewer shows an error with ID 10016 saying: The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {C2F03A33-21F5-47FA-B4BB-156362A2F239} and APPID {316CDED5-E4AE-4B15-9113-7055D84DCC97} to the user MSI-GE72\Majkel SID (S-1-5-21-2195327463-1765147593-3671702907-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Microsoft.Windows.ShellExperienceHost_10.0.18362.449_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy SID (S-1-15-2-155514346-2573954481-755741238-1654018636-1233331829-3075935687-2861478708). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool. The CLSID and APPID both are from a component named "ImmersiveShell.exe". Which seems to be easily repaired by few tweaks in Register and component services, but none of the tips by microsoft helped me and the warning persists. It happens only on laptops with no direct video output from the gpu as I suppose? Which is odd, since Oculus Link doesn't use a graphic port and shouldn't be an issue. Has anyone by chance got this issue resolved? I wonder if this can be resolved by some changes in the oculus software?2.6KViews4likes6Commentsi need help with oculus link
Hi I recently finished building my gaming pc and I'm having trouble with the oculus link not connecting with my headset. I own a oculus quest the original and I built this computer specifically so I could play VR but when tried to it didn't work. I have the 3rd party Anker USB-C cable (10ft) recommended by oculus and it works just fine. I followed the set up steps and when I connected my quest I got the prompt asking if I wanted to enable oculus link I pressed enable and I saw the three dots dots and I heard the game audio but it was still black with three dots and this went on for like five seconds then it said oculus link has stopped working. I did the set up again a couple more times and the same thing happened over and over again I still couldn't figure out what was wrong. I did a lot of trouble shooting I looked at articles and videos and I tried different ports and nothing seemed to work. so if anybody could help me id really appreciate it here are my specs. (PC SPECS) AMD Ryzen 5 2600 16GB of RAM Radeon RX 580 B450 Aorus Elite motherboard thank you for your time1.1KViews0likes3CommentsIs there a way to use Oculus Link with USB A 3.0?
I've been really irritated with the fact that Oculus won't sell a USB C to USB A 3.0 cable. Not everyone has a USB C port on their PC. I have the official Oculus Link cable that's plugged into a small adapter that converts USB C to USB A 3.0 and that is plugged into the USB 3 port on my PC. But for some reason, the Oculus app says "Your performance can be improved by switching to USB 3 connection. Also, this completely blocks me from running my games at 90hz on the Quest 2. Can anyone give me any tips or methods I could use? Also, I wanna mention I've bought 5 different cables and they're all giving me the same result.1KViews0likes3CommentsGPU Link Requirements
Alright. This is kinda weird so I'm gonna cut right to the chase. I am a developer on Roblox and I have been working in VR for a long time now. I have been using my friend's Rift S to test. When I bought the Quest 2, I realized that the headset is not being discovered by my PC. It gets stuck at "Plug in your Headset" on the computer. I feel like it is because of my graphics card. It is not compatible. Is there any way to get past the GPU requirements? Now before you say what you want to say, just know, I can make the Roblox Client run on the CPU AND GPU. Roblox requires little to no power to run because I made sure my VR system was efficient enough. Anyways, let me know if you have anything that could help me ?726Views0likes1CommentOculus Link Not Working
My Oculus windows app is v21.0.0 and the quest is v20.0.0, will this affect the editor debug process using the oculus link. If yes should I downgrade my Oculus PC app to v20.0.0, to make the oculus link work? But I can't seem to find the v20.0.0 of the oculus pc app, the latest one is v21.0.0. Any suggestions are welcome Thanks in advance.454Views0likes0CommentsIs there any option in Quest for enabling Oculus Link without prompt after cable detected?
As title. For some reason I have to disable tracking and cover cameras, therefore using controller to click buttons is not easy. I am wondering if there is such an option like "Don't ask again" so that I don't need to confirm enabling Oculus Link each time cable is detected. hello, im having a weird problem. I wanted to play a game on oculus link in steam vr today like i did for past few days but for some reason there is no sound in oculus rift S menu or steam vr only in oculus quest menu there is. I tried following steps on oculus site in fixing the issue but it points into installing an update through my oculus, but when i tried it it said that there was no available updates. I check if the goggles were hidden in audio settings but they are not there. And it seems like it happend for no reason as i have oculus quest and used it with link for 10 days and i didn't had any problems back then Does anyone know how to solve this problem ?680Views0likes0CommentsThe Room VR - No pointers in hands so I can't move
"The Room" as such a terrible name for Googling problems - even with quotes around it  I'm using OculusLink and for some reason the pointers in game to the 'hotspots' don't work, so I can't move anywhere. Everything else seems to be ok, so not sure what else to try.653Views0likes1Comment
