Bring Back the Oculus Home!!
While I understand the need for performance optimization, removing the Home environment entirely has removed a core layer of the PCVR ecosystem, the trophy and decoration system. PCVR users have the hardware overhead to support these environments. By forcing us into the minimalist Void Menu Meta has removed the incentive to collect in-game items and interact with the platform UI. Please consider bringing back a persistent, customizable "Home" for Link and Rift users who want more than just a 2D menu. How come you guys gave Quest cool 3d environments and PCVR users are stuck with some weird Interface. And if the Quest 1/2 can't run it then turn it off by default for them. I'm just saying Oculus Home used to feel more futuristic then the "Modern" Dash Menu ever has. Again Meta please consider bringing back what made Oculus Link special.52Views0likes2CommentsVR in iRacing, stutters randomly, vision is extremely distorted, occasional complete black
I am attempting to use my Quest 3 to play iRacing, I have a 3070 and ryzen 7 5800x, my settings on iRacing are turned down to only having the car textures on High everything else is low / off. the resolution on my Oculus app is set at 0.9, the refresh rate at 70hz. The issue is that after maybe 5 minutes into a race, the VR starts looking terrible, it gets all distorted and it looks like certain squares are not where they are supposed to be. Randomly it will begin to stutter and freeze. Additionally, sometimes the whole thing just shows a black screen. I am using the Quest 3 Link cable from Meta its brand new.23KViews6likes58CommentsAbout to start flat2vr and similar mods for more PCVR...should I keep my 4090 for this?
Hi! I was about to sell my 4090 and get a 5080 as I will end up pocketing about $700 BUT I just learned about all these mods and started seeing some comments that PCVR can get over the 16GB VRAM limit lf the 5080 and that the 4090 would be a better card to keep. Do you agree?22Views0likes0CommentsQuest 3 new BUG : Big issue with the guardian while using Quest Link, and disabling guardian limits.
Hello, Since the last firmware update of my Quest 3, when I connect my Quest 3 to my PC using Quest Link, when using the Quest 3, the guardian limit of a room next to mine is always displayed. Even when I start a PC VR game (Flight Simulator for exemple) the blue limits of the room next to mine are still displayed on top of Flight Simulator. So the only solution I have found is to disable the guardian limit inside the Quest Link parameters on the Quest 3. But playing a VR game with no guardian is dangerous, plus there is a second problem : if I do not re-enable the guardian using the Quest Link parameters, then if I use my Quest 3 without connecting it to my PC, there is no way to re-enable the guardian, all the guardians parameters in the Quest 3 are greyed out. So then I am obliged to connect back my Quest 3 to my PC just to re-enable the guardian. So here are my 2 questions : - while using Quest Link (cable) how to force the guardian limits, which belong to the room next to mine, to not be permanently displayed (as it is also displayed while I play my PC games) ? - Once the guardian has been disabled in the Quest link parameters (while connected to a PC), how to re-enable the guardian on a Quest 3 without having to connect it to a PC ?? I purchased After the fall in the quest headset and wanted to airlink to my PC for better graphics. I cannot download the program to my PC via the desktop app. Other games are not having this issue it appears to be only "After the Fall". I have opened a ticket (7786734) and there was no solution i was simply told that my RTX4090 was too powerful. Which should in no way keep the oculus app from functioning properly and the fact that other games work this way clearly shows this to be incorrect. I would appreciate any help to resolve this. Also i have already tried the download and repair effort described on another thread. This did not solve the issue.933Views0likes5CommentsKnown Issue: Closing Steam VR crashes Dash
Hi everyone! We're seeing a small group of Steam VR users finding that Dash is crashing on headset and that their PC is becoming unresponsive once they quit the app. The team is working on identifying and fixing the root cause of this issue, and right now the investigation shows that this is likely related to Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling being enabled when using certain Nvidia GPUs. If you're having this issue, there is a workaround In the meantime! You can prevent this happening by disabling the Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling feature. To do so, follow these instructions. If you need any further help or have noticed other bugs around Steam VR, please comment below. Let me know if you have any questions!19KViews9likes15Comments
