Meta Horizon Link bricked
Recently I tried updating my meta horizon app and I got the error restart your pc or contact support, I restarted and got the same error. Now the installer won't install the application properly aka I get the same error and the link app is gone. I figured it was worth a try here for help. For context I didn't use the app for 7-10 days then I launched pcvr and it was unstable, saw an update, tried to install it, and the app bricked itself. I really don't know what to do anymore, I've had countless problems with this app and I have to use it cause airlink, wireless steamvr is just too unstable.122Views1like5CommentsMy quest 3 isn't charging with my link cable but the quest 2 did.. anyone know why?

We admin VR/Immersive software at a University. We currently deploy Meta Horizon Link to ~150 PCs and its used for Unity VR development with Meta Quest headsets. Students do not have admin rights. When the app auto-updates, the main software installs fine, but the driver updates fail because they trigger a UAC (Admin) prompt that students cannot accept. This leaves the software in a broken state until IT manually intervenes. The rolling/unpredictable release schedule makes this hard to plan for during a teaching term/semester. What we found so far Config: We found the new "Disable Auto-Updates" toggle in the UI, but it appears to be user-specific and stored as a binary BLOB in a local SQLite DB (data.sqlite). We are hesitant to script edits to this file on login as it seems brittle compared to a standard Registry key (?). Network: We are thinking of using a Windows Firewall rule to block the updater exe (OVRServiceLauncher.exe) to "freeze" the version for the term/semester. The trade-off is this would likely block the ability to download new store apps/experiences (though our primary use case is Unity dev, so this might be acceptable). Questions Has anyone successfully managed this in an enterprise/education environment? Or have any good hacks :) Is there a more robust way to disable updates than the firewall block? If you use the firewall method, have you run into any major side effects? Thanks!24Views0likes0CommentsHELP ASAP My meta quest is stuck in a boot loop
Hey Guys, For some reason my meta quest is stuck in a boot loop and tried everything even factory resetting and trying to side load update but nothing works. I’ve also contacted Meta and they said I could buy a new one, but I don’t want to waste another $100 for another headset so what should I do?32Views0likes1CommentOculus CV1 black screen.
META SUPPORT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ACCESS AS THEY ARE NOT RECOGNISING MY EMAIL/PRODUCT ID/PRODUCT SALE NUMBER. So ive had a CV1 for years now and initially had zero issues with the device. over the past few years it seems that the device is hit or miss as to whether or not it actually works. i dont know what facebook is doing behind the scenes but pushing updates that break working devices is evil. sometimes reinstalling it would correct the issues but now zero fix whatsoever. so the issue is that i had a fully working headset, not too long ago 3-5 days it was working perfectly fine went to sleep woke up the next day and now i have a black screen in the headset. White Light next to sensor, clear that the backlights for the screens are active. Oculus Mirror is a completely black screen. SteamVR i can see full motion detection, controllers working, Sound literally everything but the screen remains black I have tried literally everything listed everywhere i can find as a fix. i've tried different cables, different sockets, both USB and HDMI, ive tried reinstalling gpu drivers, rolling back, ive tried lots of different versions of the oculus app with clean installs, driver updates and restarting the pc an ungodly amount of times... Debug tool disabling proximity sensor to see if that was an issue. ive tried the beta test channel. usb power settings. different number of active monitors. im using a rtx 2060super its a fully supported gpu for vr and the cv1 so that isnt the issue. what am i supposed to do but throw this trash in the bin and never touch another facebook product again. id buy another secondhand if i knew it would work but at this point i dont really know if it would be worth the risk.279Views0likes4CommentsPC not meating the requirements, even though the PC is strong enough to easily handle VR.
Hi, My meta quest link app always says that my PC doesnt meet the requirements, even though I just bought a new PC. Here are the specs: GEFORCE RTX 5060 AMD 7 5700X 32GB of RAM 1TB storage. My older PC had a 1660 super in there and I never had that message pop up wich is strange, because you would think that the new PC would handle VR even better, but I have been getting quest link issues, like not connecting to my PC, even tough my quest is connected with a link cable. If anyone knows how to fix this issue that would help me out a lot! Thank you!591Views1like18Comments
