No Sound After Link Update v83
After installing the newest update for the Link app last night, audio will no longer play through Link. I've tried: -Uninstalling and reinstalling the app -Reinstalling the Oculus Drivers -Repairing the app -Ensuring the device is working properly through Windows All to no avail... *Also not opt-in to the PTC I'm not sure what to really do at this point. Do I have to wait for another update to come around or are there any other possible fixes I can do?301Views3likes12CommentsQuest 3s won’t turn on or charge
I bought my quest new and it arrived today it was working fine out of the box but seemingly randomly a couple hours into use the screen went black and when I tried to charge it the light indicating charging wouldn’t light up when I plugged it in. I’ve tried a different cord and different outlets but nothing seems so be working. I’m sure it can’t be out of battery because it was at 50% before it black screened and said so in the app. When I tried rebooting it or factory rebooting it nothing happened no display no noises either and I literally just got it out of the box hours ago and set it up and it was working fine I can’t understand what I did wrong. The only thing I can think it could be was I set and reset my boundaries multiple times and I’ve heard of that messing with battery but I can’t understand why the charging light isn’t turning on when I plug it in or what to do about it. I’ve tried just leaving it on the charger for a couple hours but nothing changed.25Views0likes2CommentsStarting at Rift 1 it’s silly that Quest in 2025 still lack basic user controls for core functions
People have been asking Meta for years to add a simple toggle to disable the proximity sensor directly on the headset. Instead, the only way is through ADB or SideQuest, which makes zero sense for a mainstream device. A native setting should exist by now. Meta also removed the option to disable the “double tap to glance” overlay. It’s now permanently on with no way to turn it off. In fast movement or dance sessions, both problems annoy constantly. Quick head movement or leaning forward trips the proximity sensor, and accidental taps or scratches activate room view. It breaks immersion every time. It honestly feels like the product designers don’t actually use the headset actively. Having to open a developer account just to disable Guardian proves it. If there are legal concerns, add warnings. Don’t take away core user control! Small note while on on the train of annoying issues about Pro: -thanks for fixing the odd rendering issue on Pro headset where a diagonal line was breaking the image on the headset after updating to v80 and up its gone BUT when will your microphones ever be flawless? It's not as bad as the Rift S, but occasional mic dying turning robotic or giving a high pitch scream still appears once every few months or weeks does not happen on my Quest 3, Rift cv1, but we all know the famous Rift s mic going robot mode! (all headsets now on newest OS at the time of writing this)11Views0likes0CommentsCannot acces the Quest settings menu from Oculus Link anymore
When using Oculus Link I used to be able to double tap the side of the headset to get out of "Link" and access the native Quest menu, which is very useful when you want to quickly change your boundary or adjust the brightness. Now for the last few weeks (I think since v81 ?) I can't to that anymore : If I double tap the headset it activates passthrough and I only get a popup to return to the Link app. Is there another way to access the Quest settings without completely quitting Link ? Is there a plan to fix this ? Thanks !48Views1like4CommentsThis corporation is getting ridiculous. Bring back Home Environments. Stop.
I want to start by saying the micro instant the Valve Steam Frame is released, I will be immediately throwing my Oculus Quest 2, and 3 in the garbage as hard as I can. I cannot stand this nonsense anymore. I do not want to even sell it for the hundred bucks I can make off of it, because I know Facebook will make way more money collecting the intimate, personal data through the inside-out tracking cameras of the next poor sucker that uses one of these things. Facebook has done nothing but shoot itself in the foot over and over and over, month after month with absolute zero public favor as a result. Besides the VR Youtubers glazing and reaching as hard as possible to find a teeny tiny positive thing with each quest DownDating. (The opposite of updating) This is probably something I'm going to be banned for, but I do not care. My data being deleted from Facebook will be an absolute win. I have loved this corporation so much for its VR hardware from Palmer Luckey, and software for the first 4 years of its existence. Then it went to garbage. Removing home environments and forcing users to constantly use their headset at full tilt (100% GPU/CPU usage) at all times. This is the exact definition of bloatware. The new homes look horrible, I don't want a bunch of fake NPC's that cosplay losers, that jump around my forced meta horizons slop environment. Why would you undo all that progress making those environments, they were literally the only cool thing left. This is clearly malicious, what are you even gaining from doing this? While I'm here, i'm going to mention the state of Oculus Link. There is no oculus link anymore. it is completely non functional, its been 3 years of the exact same loop. One week it will work flawlessly, then after a 'meta link' update, it goes right back to having zero functionality. It will finally work for no reason, then like magic clockwork, an 'update' comes out, and it no longer connects, no longer has audio, no longer has depth perception. This is clearly a deliberate method to push PCVR players away from high fidelity pc titles, into their standalone horizons slop. I have put so much god forsaken money into this company through 99% ad revenue and personal data collection, and about 1% transactions and purchases. I've put about a thousand+ dollars into this to be abandoned and forgotten. Facebook no longer allows support for their product. Yes. I am not fabricating anything. If you managed to finally dive through the hoops to get to the Serial Number selection screen, it will not accept your number. It doesn't matter what it is, they will pretend they cannot find your box, or your headset, or your controllers and selecting "I don't have a device or serial number" will prompt you to a screen saying "we cannot help users without devices at this time". Genius strategy!! Do absolutely nothing to improve your company, actually, do the opposite. Completely ruin your company over the course of 2 years, completely disable any support for quests, boom profit. TLDR. I will be immediately switching to the Valve Steam Frame the micro-second it drops and throwing away all my Oculus Quests in the garbage due to a complete failure, lack of trying, and constant malicious attempts to screw the Quest users over at every possible turn. Stop updating, or do it right. Expect the automatic bot comment from Facebook to be the first comment, using the perfect words to get you to shut up. Actions speak louder than an automated bots words, act like normal people for 20 minutes. What are your thoughts, be so for real. Assume anybody shooting this down with zero thought is a metabot. This is inexcusable. Give me genuine reasons to appreciate what this has become. With technical explanations. This is genuinely horrible and you've lost me and thousands of others.100Views2likes6CommentsBricked oculus rift s
Ok i have a rift s, that worked fine and dandy perfectly for years. then suddenly after not using it for some time it stopped working. by stopped working i mean: it tracks my movement in games (when using oculusKiller, and sometimes when using the normal Meta Quest Link). only shows a black screen, or loads infinitely(3 dots). what ive done to try and fix it: restart pc reconnect cables different ports powered usb hub removing all other connected devices updating drivers complete pc wipe and reset. complete reinstall downgraded drivers and software (v24, v25, v28 all tested same result) tried oculusKiller (works better but still just shows a black screen, while still tracking movement, and playing audio) using a quest 2 with cable works (but disconnects often randomly) I dont know what is wrong and dont know how to fix whatever this is. I paid for this hardware and suddenly being unable to use it is unacceptable ALSO: i am unable to get support because the support thing says: "We couldn't find a device associated with the verification info provided. Please try again." (with a valid rift s serial number) i can also not find a different way to contact meta about this316Views1like11CommentsFailed to reach service out of ideas on how to fix.
Just yesterday, my Meta Quest Link app stopped working. Takes forever to try and see if it works, offers the repair button, and it doesn't work at all. I have tried repairing with the setup.exe file, which doesn't work, and manually deleting all files and reinstalling doesn't work either. Using the uninstall feature doesn't work, and I have tried all the methods I could find online, but none work. Restarting doesn't work either. tried the QWAVE trick and doesn't work and anything you can find on youtube or forums. Drivers everything. And it's not a minimum requirement thing my PC is beefy. I'm out of solutions, and I am not tech savvy enough to figure one out. The one thing I have noticed while trying to troubleshoot is that the OVRServer_x64.exe process seems to be turning on and off constantly it never stays for longer than 4 seconds on the task manager so, that is my guess as to what the problem could be? I tried opening the app on my laptop and it works just fine and that process does stay on permanently. It worked just fine 2 days ago, so I don't know what I could have done wrong to make it stop working or other things.153Views0likes6CommentsOculus Quest Link gives a black screen when I open my Desktop
I've read many articles, posts, and websites about this issue. Everything says to "set OVRServer_x64 to Power Saving mode." I've done that multiple times. I've also re-installed the Oculus app, twice. I've re-downloaded all my NVIDIA and AMD drivers. I have no clue what to do. Quest link worked a week ago, now it doesn't. I can add desktop panels, and use them, but I can't see my desktop. Any help would be appreciated. ------------------- My specs: Operating system: Microsoft Windows 11 Home (10.0, Build 22631) Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-Core Processor 8/16 Motherboard: ASRock B650M-C RAM: 32 GB Graphics card1: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB) Graphics card2: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics (512 MB)Solved43KViews4likes42CommentsMeta Quest Link / Air Link Stuck on 3 Dots (No Video): Advanced Fixes Needed
We are still dealing with one of the most persistent and frustrating bugs in the Quest Link ecosystem. I am making this post because the endless "three-dot loading screen" issue is still happening to users for days, weeks, or even months, and there has been no effective, consistent fix provided by Meta. The problem: My Meta Quest headset successfully connects to the PC app, which reports "Connected," but the headset itself gets stuck on the black screen with the three pulsing white dots indefinitely. I can often hear the PC audio, but I receive absolutely no video feed. This bug makes PC VR unusable. I have tried almost every known solution to fix this, including all standard and many advanced troubleshooting steps.111Views0likes7Commentswhen i try to launch a game when connected via airlink or USB cable, it displays double images.
