Oculus Quest Link gives a black screen when I open my Desktop
I've read many articles, posts, and websites about this issue. Everything says to "set OVRServer_x64 to Power Saving mode." I've done that multiple times. I've also re-installed the Oculus app, twice. I've re-downloaded all my NVIDIA and AMD drivers. I have no clue what to do. Quest link worked a week ago, now it doesn't. I can add desktop panels, and use them, but I can't see my desktop. Any help would be appreciated. ------------------- My specs: Operating system: Microsoft Windows 11 Home (10.0, Build 22631) Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-Core Processor 8/16 Motherboard: ASRock B650M-C RAM: 32 GB Graphics card1: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB) Graphics card2: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics (512 MB)Solved38KViews4likes40CommentsWhat Wifi 6e routers currently works bug free with the Quest 3?
Hi! Just wanted to post here to get a seperate thread going. As of today there is a major bug in communication between Quest 3 and certain types of Router models. So let's get a list started on Wifi 6e routers that actually work. What Router do you have experience with being stable at 2400 Mbps in dedicated 6e mode? Remember to post Router name and model and screen grabs/video from the Quest 3 showing the speed. (Turn on experimental wifi settings to do so.) This is by no account a list that is for everyone. So far I found that some of the more expensive models between 350-700$/€ have been reported to work. So meta still has a major bug to fix. But if you can afford it, this might be is a way around the problem… ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ The bug explained: There is a bug with negotiation rates with certain router models. Essentially AX and AXE models but more might also be affected. I have been investigating this bug since launch and finally both Meta and TP-Link have confirmed that the Quest3s negotiation protokolls with the routers is very unstable. This problem is totally unrelated to VD or AirPlay functionality, but it's here you'll notice the problem. As of right now the Mbps can flux from approximately 1080 to 1900 on 6G and ocasinaly dip down below 800. Making it stutter and glitch in latency. On 5G it will flux between 1080 and 420 Mbps making it essentially unusable in wireless PC streaming. Both Meta and TP-Link are currently investigating the problem. Meta has stated that the problem will be fixed with a firmware build in the near future. If your experiencing this bug and want to follow its progress you can follow this seperate thread: https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/Unstable-wifi-covarage-with-Quest-3-on-some-Router-Brands-Known/m-p/1099915#M241197Solved138KViews7likes226Commentsquest 2 not connecting to pc suddenly

OS: Windows 11 Quest Model: Quest 2 (more than one) Link Cable: Multiple third party cables made for Quest 2 PC: Multiple PC setups including laptops Hello, I'm not necessarily here to ask a question, but I want Meta to be aware of an ongoing issue with the Oculus Software on Windows 11 (I haven't tested on 10). For the past year(?) I have been experiencing an issue where Quest Link either: fails outright with an error message, displays a black screen with three dots indefinitely, or I get video but no audio despite the audio settings being correct in 1) Oculus Software, 2) Windows, 3) In the game. I have tested on a slew of different devices all running Windows 11 including desktop PC's and laptops. I have also tested several different third party cables, and even with different Quest 2 headsets. The issue presents itself at seemingly random. Some times it works flawlessly. Most of the time, however, it requires 1) replugging the cable, 2) Restarting Oculus Software, 3) Restarting the PC, 4) Restarting the Quest 2. I change nothing with the configuration of my PC and it will decide to work or not randomly. I have also tried almost every trick on the internet, including messing with USB power saving settings, changing usb ports, trying new cables, trying new computers with a new Windows install, trying new Quest 2's, etc. and a lot of things I don't remember anymore. Nothing works. As you can imagine, I've spent a lot of time trying to get this to work, even resorting to replacing Quest 2's and trying my family's gaming setups. I am beyond frustrated that my attempts to solve this problem have been futile. I am convinced that the Oculus Software on PC is the culprit and is not working as intended. I'll be shocked if Meta's engineers are unable to reproduce the issue, because my attempts to get Quest Link to work consistently have failed on a variety of hardware.Solved26KViews9likes20CommentsMy Airlink audio isn't working
It's just like my audio completely disappeared. I was playing games with the audio just fine like a week ago and searched all about this when it stopped working, and nothing works. My audio for my computer is Headphones (Oculus Virtual Audio Device) and it's at half volume and "Hear computer audio in VR" is on. I tried going to the control sound panel thing on my computer and nothing seems to work, idk whats happening but this needs to be fixedSolved26KViews1like18CommentsConnecting to a low end laptop with quest 2
Hi there community recently I wanted to connect my quest 2 headset to my low end laptop (i3 - 8GB ram - intel UHD graphics). I know the minimum requirements and I know it will not connect because of this. I want to somehow bypass this and still connect with cable to my low end laptop since I'm making an app downgrading graphics. I tried connecting with virtual destkop already which actually worked. (Video) However, the ping is high because it is over WIFI and the laptop can't really handle the setup graphics by VD. This is the reason I want to connect with meta quest app (or any other app connecting with a cable but I heard there is no other app) to my laptop just to try. Any tip is welcome. Thanks anyone!980Views0likes0CommentsInstalling Oculus App on Drive OTHER THAN C: Drive
Hi, I have spent the past several hours attempting to run the initial Oculus Setup, but every time I get past the Terms and Conditions I get a screen saying that I cannot connect to the Oculus Servers (which I know is false--my Internet is working fine). After scrolling through several other forums and posts, I think if I am able to install the App onto any drive besides my C: drive (I have three drives -- C:, D:, and F:), my problems will be solved. BUT, I cannot figure out how to start the installation on my F: drive. I have tried to follow the steps on this page: https://support.oculus.com/help/oculus/1676275305961321/ numerous times. Whenever I enter "OculusSetup /drive:F" into Run, Windows replies something similar to: "Windows cannot find 'OculusSetup'. Please check your spelling and try again." If anyone has suggestions for installing on separate drives, any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!Solved155KViews1like105CommentsBenefits for connecting to the pc?
This might sound like a dumb question. But what are the benefits of connecting a Quest to the pc? Is it just because to connect it to the Steam library and play non Oculus store games If I play without my PC and try it Standalone does that mean that games will not lag from the Oculus store/home?
