Quest 3 - Microphone and Speaker Quality
For the next Quest headset, please make the hardware for the microphone and speakers better. Most VR enthusiasts are also social VR users so having a quality microphone and audio listening experience is highly valued. As a Quest 3 user myself, I have had experiences with a Valve Index so I know that the internals can fit a great microphone and that audio solutions exist where audio sounds amazing. To be frank, if the hardware is compelling enough spending $1000+ is not a hard sell and I hope the PRO versions take this into account.586Views0likes0CommentsQuestions about stable FPS and recommended specs
Hi there, We got some feedback requiring our Unity game to perform at 90 fps on Rift and 80 fps on Rift S; is it required to perform at this level for all quality settings? The graphics options in the game enable to player to choose between different graphical qualities (from low to ultra) and can toggle various camera effects (anti-aliasing, bloom, SSAO, etc.). So do we need to ensure that a solid 90/80fps framerate for both the lowest possible quality settings as well as for the highest possible quality settings? Also regarding the recommended PC specs, it mentioned it needs to be a solid framerate for an AMD 290/GTX 970; how can we ensure this without having these specific PC parts as we are just a small indie company? Do we just need to buy these and test on them? Or can we just change these recommended specs to some more powerful GPUs (e.g. GTX 1070) or is that too high to recommend for an Oculus Store App? And again, is performance to be measured on the lowest/highest quality settings? Any help is appreciated!795Views0likes0CommentsAnybody knows how to fix audio quality in SteamVR while using Oculus Link? (compressed sounds)
Hey everyone, When I play some of the SteamVR games via Oculus Link, some of the louder sounds feel "compressed" or distorted (gunshots/explosions/similar), as if they have low bitrate. Anybody else encountered this issue? I can hear this both while using Quest built-in speakers as well as nice quality headphones plugged into the Quest. There is no such issue when I play games from Quest / Oculus store - it seems it applies only to SteamVR games (I've tried Superhot, The Lab, Saints & Sinners). When I connect the headphones to my PC directly, the sound is totally fine in SteamVR, yet when I switch back to Quest as the playback device, the problem is back. Tried to tweak the settings here and there (in the Oculus app, in the SteamVR settings, in the Windows settings) - nothing seem to help. Thinking of buying a wireless headset just for SteamVR games it there is no solution :( Any ideas on possible fix? Much appreciated!3.5KViews0likes2CommentsQuality requirements
Hello, I apologize if my question is kind of stupid (I am new to the scene). I just wonder if there are any requirements for a build in respect of quality or different categories before it will get acceptance for the Store. Can somebody point me where to look for informations like that? Thank you very much!614Views0likes2Comments
