New Quest 3 locked on software update, impossible to fix.
Hi guys, I bought my first Quest 3 today. When I turned it on, it started a software update but it gets stuck there — the device keeps turning on and off without completing the update, and I can’t get past that screen. I haven’t even set up my Meta Horizon account yet, and since I didn’t purchase my Quest 3 through the official Meta store, when I try to enter my device’s serial number on the website it gives me an error. I tried doing the sideload update (the only fix I found on the internet) by holding the volume down and power buttons on the Quest 3. But when I select my device in the browser, I get a message saying: “your device is not supported, please try reconnecting your devices.” Weird cause both my PC and Chrome are detecting it as Quest 3. I also tried disabling adblock, deleting caché and cookies, incognito mode, other browsers, other PCs, other cables, connecting it on different times, etc. There is not a single thing I haven't tried. (Every single one of these attempts were done while having 50% battery. There’s nothing else I can do, literally — I’ve already tried factory reset several times as well. Do I need to return my device? I'm submitting this post so support can help me. I'm quite desperate, I don't see my issue anywhere on google and I spoke to support via Whatsapp and everything they told me to try, I already had.2.2KViews1like10CommentsMeta Warranty-Lost Son’s Device…Investigation?
Desperate for resolution and looking for help. It appears that where I shipped the headset for warranty may have lost my son's Quest 3s based their emails. I was told on 9/16 and 9/17 they had my device and a replacement was being shipped only to be told on 9/18 an investigation is being done. I can’t get a clear answer on to what is being investigated or a timeline, same replies just different verbiage. My son has a neurological condition that keeps him from playing contact sports that he would love to play but can’t and this has been his outlet since 2019 but I don't have the funds to just buy another one. Below is a recap of timeline. Looking for a better customer service email, phone number, anything that will help get this resolved. 9/6: Meta emails me an RMA + FedEx label. 9/9: FedEx confirms delivered. 9/15- 9/17: Meta admits it’s delivered & “eligible for replacement” I was checking daily because status wasn’t updating. On 09/16 I see the RMA was canceled, a new one appeared, then another when I followed up on 9/17. 9/18 "...we are still actively coordinating with our warehouse team and the courier to locate your package and resolve the issue" 9/21 Today’s email when asked for specifics on what has to be investigated “I’d like to clarify that while our system shows your return was received, the replacement request was unexpectedly canceled on our end. Our internal team is currently looking into why this happened. Please be assured that we are working to resolve this as soon as possible so you can receive your replacement.”Solved278Views0likes19CommentsMeta RMA Endless Waiting I need help
I issued my RMA on the 4th and shipped it out on the 8th via FedEx air. By the 10th, FedEx showed that it had already arrived in Hong Kong airspace. I thought, “Okay, things should move smoothly now,” and went to bed feeling relieved. But then… nothing. For days, the status just sat there: “Awaiting arrival”. One day passed, then two, then over a week still nothing. Even when I email, all I hear is that the case is “under investigation.” I only receive a template-style update if I keep asking repeatedly. Unless I reach out myself, Meta leaves me completely in the dark. You already received my Quest Pro controllers — so why haven’t you returned them? If I ask whether they’re lost, the agent says no. According to FedEx tracking, they arrived at the center on the 10th. So if they weren’t lost in transit, then were they lost inside the center? Again, I’m told no. All I ever hear after several conversations is: “We are still looking for them inside the center. Please wait.” But how much longer am I supposed to wait? It has now been 22 days since they arrived 12 business days, which makes it the se260Views0likes18CommentsSimulate Xbox One Home Button Press?
Making a game that uses both Xbox One controllers and mouse for the Rift on PC. When pressing the Home button on the Xbox One controller, it returns the users to the oculus home app and puts the game in a "suspend" mode. I was wondering, is there a function call in the Unity utilities anywhere to replicate this functionality, such as when doing this when clicking on a UI button? I tried using both OVRManager.PlatformUIConfirmQuit(); OVRManager.PlatformUIGlobalMenu(); But these apparently only work on the Gear.1.1KViews0likes3Comments
