Can't link Oculus account
I factory reset my phone, now I'm installing the VR apps to run the Gear VR. After linking my facebook account it asks me to link my oculus account. I type in the username and password and click "link and continue" but nothing happens. It just blinks and stays the same. The information is correct because I can log into the website just fine. I already enabled app permissions. I have the black 2016 Gear VR with a Samsung Galaxy S8.
Horribly slow fps on galaxy s8
As stupid as it might sound, we are getting incrementally worse performance for our GearVR app on Samsung Galaxy devices. s6 performs the best at ~60fps, s7 at ~57-60 and s8 at ~25-30. We've tried unity versions 5.6.0f3 and 5.5.1f1 with similar results. We have also tried Oculus Utilities v1.13.0 and v1.14.0. Has anyone else faced similar issues? The profiler shows substantially high amount of time for Camera.Render for s8(~12ms) than s7(~3-4fps). /parth
Watch Purchased Movies On Oculus Rift for Samsung S8+
I have just started in the VR world with my purchase or a Samsung Galaxy S8+ and Gear VR. I was hopping that I could use the VR to watch movies I have purchased in the past on Amazon and Google through youtube. However, I tried the Oculus browser and I get and HTML5 not supported when I try to watch my purchased videos. I tried Samsung Internet browser and get the same issue. I tried Samsung phonecast and I get sound but no video. Looking for help here. Is there anyway to watch movies I purchased from Google or Amazon on my Samsung Gear VR?
Gear VR compatibility
I have preordered the new Samsung galaxy s8, but I live in Germany so I don't get the free Gear VR, because is only in US. My question is , will the galaxy s8 be compatible with the old Gear VR from last year? Because the new Samsung galaxy s8 has a USB-C port instead a micro-usb.
