Issue with users switching to Beta/Alpha channels and back to LIVE.
I am hearing a few cases form our users that have issues updating our application after switching from either Beta or Alpha, back to the LIVE version. It will sometimes not update even with a full reinstall. Are there any other developers here experiencing this issue of forcing the application to upload to the selected release channel?8Views0likes0CommentsContractual obligation to unfair pricing outside of Meta Store
This is a complicated issue and I won't be surprised if this isn't correct place to discuss it but I don't know what would be the better place, so here we go: Recently I wanted to discuss an issue of unfair regional pricing in Poland (about 25% higher price than the USD price or about 10% higher than the Euro price) for a certain VR game on Steam (which is also sold on on Meta store) and during those discussion they claimed that they were contractually forced by Meta to set said price, so I would like to ask if there is any chance for someone in Meta to comment on the matter and maybe have a discussion in which there could be found a reasonable resolution of the issue, not only for this single game but also for any other that might have suffered from the same contractual obligation and if not then I would like someone to at least point me in the right direction as to who and where should I be contacting regarding the matter.14Views0likes0CommentsOTA Zip meta quest 2

To: Meta Product Team (Messenger Platform & User Experience) From: Kenjie Lantape Agbu Date: October 14, 2025 Subject: Feature Suggestion: Implementing a "Smart & Transparent Offline Messaging System" for Messenger Dear Meta Product Team, I am writing to propose a new feature that I believe will significantly benefit millions of Messenger users, especially small businesses and individuals who utilize their personal accounts for commercial purposes. My proposal is to develop a "Smart & Transparent Offline Messaging System." This idea aims to upgrade the current "Instant Reply" and "Away Message" functionalities by focusing on two key aspects: Transparency and Intelligent Customization. A. Component 1: Transparency Disclaimer (Building Trust) The Current Problem: When an auto-reply is active, the recipient often cannot tell if the response is from a person or a bot. This leads to confusion, frustration, the common "seen-but-no-reply" annoyance, and a breakdown of trust. The Proposal: * Automatic Notification: Automatically append a small, non-intrusive disclaimer text to every automated message sent. * Suggested Text: "(Auto-Reply): The account owner is currently offline or busy. This is an automatic message." * Benefits: * User Trust: The communication becomes honest and transparent, fostering stronger trust between the sender and the recipient (and with the Meta platform). * Correct Expectation: Customers and friends immediately know when to expect a human response, drastically reducing frustration and miscommunication. B. Component 2: Smart & Contextual Reply Logic (Intelligent Responses) The Current Problem: Current automatic replies are often generic—one message serves all types of inquiries. This is ineffective because a single response cannot adequately address a "business inquiry" and a "personal greeting" simultaneously. The Proposal: * Customizable Response Templates: Provide users with the option to set up different categories of auto-replies (e.g., "Business," "Personal," "Urgent"). * Keyword Detection/Intent Logic: The Messenger system would use simple AI or user-defined keyword logic to categorize the incoming message before sending a reply. * Setup Example (for the User): * If the message contains keywords: "price," "how to order," "available," or "shipping" \rightarrow Use the "Business Reply Template." * If the message contains keywords: "how are you," "let's meet," or "where are you" \rightarrow Use the "Personal Reply Template." * Benefits: * Relevance: The response will always be appropriate to the query. Business queries get formal, informative answers, while personal messages get casual, friendly ones. * Professionalism: It prevents the awkwardness of a casual personal auto-reply being sent to a customer, or a formal business reply being sent to a friend. Summary: The Universal Benefit of this Feature Implementing the "Smart & Transparent Offline Messaging System" will enhance the entire Meta ecosystem: * For Business Users (Small Sellers): It improves their customer service 24/7. Leads receive instant, relevant information, which increases conversion rates and overall business efficiency. * For General Users (Customers/Friends): They experience a more professional and candid interaction on the platform. The speed of the response combined with the transparency of the bot usage enhances the overall user experience. * For the Meta Platform: This feature provides a significant competitive advantage, demonstrating Meta's commitment to providing advanced and user-friendly automation tools that support small businesses and organic communication flows. I sincerely hope you will give this suggestion serious consideration. I am available to provide any further details or clarification needed. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I'm trying to figure out if the app library is really as flaky as it seems or if I'm simply doing something wrong. Many times, I will bring up the app library, and my title simply won't be there, even though it's installed. Just now, I saw it there, then I used the three-dot menu to get to "settings" and checked that I have the correct release channel selected, and then when I returned to the App Library, I watched it refresh and my app was gone. So were a bunch of other apps. The "all" category showed 24 items, and the "installed" category showed 25. I rebooted my headset, and the all category now had 35 items, with 34 in the "installed" category, and my title was again visible. Another question is how I force my title to update when I change the release channel. I swear I saw an "update" button on the main title details screen that I used before, but this seems to be missing now, and no matter what I do, I can't get it to update, despite the HMD telling me that I have a different build code installed than the one that's available in the selected channel. I've tried changing the release channel and changing it back, and I've tried rebooting. Is there a way to force this?18Views0likes2CommentsMQDH PCVR Fails / CLI PCVR Upload Fails
I'm used to uploading the Quest version of our game via MQDH, and that works. But I'm trying to upload the PCVR build to the Rift store and facing an error. It has been suggested that I try CLI in Powershell, which I'm trying... but I don't think I've quite got it working. At first it was too quick and can't have uploaded 4GB, and now it's not showing progress after about 40 minutes. I'm just looking for a way to upload the game files to the Meta Server. Is there a guide or a video or someone that can help? I've been trying to upload a final AAB file, built in Unity, for review for production. I've tried using the "Meta Quest Developer Hub", then I tried the command line tool "ovr-platform-util". In both cases, when attempting the upload there is a repeating "server error", and an eventual final error before the upload aborts. Focusing on "ovr-platform-util", the console output repeats ""A server error occurred. The request will be retried.", starting every few seconds, then slowing down over time. After this error is repeated 10 times, there is a final error of "ERROR: An unexpected error occurred" before the terminal command aborts. The error suggests an issue on the meta server, but it's been doing this since yesterday morning, and it is now the afternoon, which seems like a long time for a server-side issue to remain unresolved. FYI, the terminal command I ran, which produced this error, is below (with the app-secret redacted). I recognize that I'm listing the AAB file under the "--apk" parameter, but there is no "--aab" option listed in the help in "ovr-platform-util", and trying "--aab" gives an immediate error of "Invalid parameter: 'aab'. Did you mean obb? Missing required argument: apk". ./ovr-platform-util upload-quest-build --app-id 9467369169965906 --app-secret **** --channel LIVE --apk /m/_fablevision/cyark-resonant/Resonant_Mesa_Verde_VR/Build/resonant_250506.aabSolved657Views0likes1Comment
