USB stick with OTG Adapter on Oculus Quest 2
Hi Guys, I've recently bought an Oculus Quest 2 64 GB and currently trying to watch videos on my USB Stick via Big Screen and Pigasus VR Media Player on the headset. I've got an USB-C to USB 3.0 OTG adapter which I use to connect the USB stick to the headset. I've already formatted the filetype on my USB Stick to FAT32 as I'm aware that's the only USB filetype currently supported by Oculus Quest. When I connect the USB stick to the headset via the adapter, the headset recognizes that I've connected something as I hear a sound but then I'm unable to find the USB stick on any of the apps. I've tried following instructions on the Oculus support page which states that I should find 'Connect media' on Oculus Gallery but the app is no longer available on Quest 2. Are USB sticks supported on the Quest 2 or not? If yes, what are the instructions for accessing USB storage on the Quest 2? Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated as one of the reasons I got the headset was to watch 3D movies on the go as I thought the Quest headsets supported media playback via USB. Hello, I used to be able to play on my VR with a link cable perfectly fine, but I recently got a new computer, and it doesn't work. I checked the requirements and my PC meets them without question, but whenever I try to connect the headset, my computer gives me messages like "Meta Quest Link isn't working correctly. Click here to check our support article." I checked that article, but nothing seemed to help. The Quest program on my computer shows that my headset is connected and ready to launch, and so does my headset, but when I launch it through the link cable, it just doesn't load, and it stays on a black screen. I've also tried connecting my headset through a USB hub instead of the actual computer to connect it through USB 3, but it still doesn't work. Is there any way I can troubleshoot it? I see lots of similar posts about things surrounding this issue but they usually get brushed off, I am hoping that making this post and outlining what I have done so far it may finally prompt a fix. Essentially the issue is that when connecting with a USB 2.0 connection, the link is completely stable, it reliably connects for several hours and even if the headset is removed and left to "sleep", it reawakens and is still successfully connected (team events in iRacing if you're asking). When using USB 3.0 however, the exact opposite is true, generally speaking in the best case scenario, when keeping the headset awake the whole time, I can sometimes get an hour before a disconnect, however, nearly every time it goes to sleep, it disconnects and sometimes the connection will be lost within minutes of launching with no explanation. For a bit of history, over the course of trying to find a solution to this issue I have: Used a USB A-C 3.0 cable, 2x USB C-C 3.0 cables (including Oculus' own), a USB A-C 2.0 cable, a USB C-C 2.0 cable, replaced my PC's motherboard with a Asus Prime Z-390A, so I would like to think this firmly rules out the frequently posed "solutions" such as better quality cables or using different ports. I have also tried resetting experimental features as I read that sometimes causes issues but this didn't have an effect, nor has making sure that video drivers and my motherboards firmware are up to date, disabled legacy USB support in my bios settings or ensuring there is no power saving settings activated on USB ports. The most frustrating part of all is that recently I did a factory reset of the headset 'cause I couldn't think of any other fix and seemingly this finally gave me a stable USB 3.0 connection using the official cable, which not only lasted until I disconnected it (several hours), but also through cycles of sleeping and waking the headset. I then didn't play for a week and Oculus app version 38.0.0.51.727 (38.0.0.51.727) / headset version 38.0.0.63.727.351486028 installed themselves and now I'm back to the same problem of 3.0 not working and 2.0 being absolutely fine, the factory reset and experimental features reset has not had an effect this time. To be clear, there have been no hardware changes at this time so given it did work as intended previously, it has nothing to do with cable quality or any mechanical issue. Any other insight of fixes that I have not yet tried would be appreciated, although mostly an indication that this is being sincerely looked into as a known issue not just brushed off as an outlier. So, I don't currently have a bluetooth keyboard. No problem I thought I've got a wireless small logitech keyboard with a USB reciever and an adapter. Which works really well... but I'm rather disappointed to find all the layouts for a phyisal keyboard seem to be US? Would it be that much to put UK options? i just got this issue last Thursday. search a lot of related information online, and found it was just a common issue since 2019. the fact is when i turn on my quest 3, it just jump to usb update mode. no matter i choose boot device, factory reset, sideload update, it just reboot the device and then jump to usb update mode again. if i choose power off, it will turn on again and stuck here while i try to charge my quest3. does it mean my quest 3 system was wiped out and only need to return it to meta for a fix? did anyone even solve this successfully before? appreciate for any answers. I have read some posts here and there and found out, that Quest3 supports USB-Ethernet Adapter. It´s a absolut stable connection without interferences and i can use godlike with 500mbps! (measured is ~480mbps, but 500mbps works without any problem) For me the best PCVR link/experience i can get! v62 has a big problem with USB port sensor (found the very same issue on my Q3 and the one of my wife)... when used with an extension cable (even if it is a quality cable) from time to time star showing the debris-water warning message. OS: Windows 11 Quest Model: Quest 2 (more than one) Link Cable: Multiple third party cables made for Quest 2 PC: Multiple PC setups including laptops Hello, I'm not necessarily here to ask a question, but I want Meta to be aware of an ongoing issue with the Oculus Software on Windows 11 (I haven't tested on 10). For the past year(?) I have been experiencing an issue where Quest Link either: fails outright with an error message, displays a black screen with three dots indefinitely, or I get video but no audio despite the audio settings being correct in 1) Oculus Software, 2) Windows, 3) In the game. I have tested on a slew of different devices all running Windows 11 including desktop PC's and laptops. I have also tested several different third party cables, and even with different Quest 2 headsets. The issue presents itself at seemingly random. Some times it works flawlessly. Most of the time, however, it requires 1) replugging the cable, 2) Restarting Oculus Software, 3) Restarting the PC, 4) Restarting the Quest 2. I change nothing with the configuration of my PC and it will decide to work or not randomly. I have also tried almost every trick on the internet, including messing with USB power saving settings, changing usb ports, trying new cables, trying new computers with a new Windows install, trying new Quest 2's, etc. and a lot of things I don't remember anymore. Nothing works. As you can imagine, I've spent a lot of time trying to get this to work, even resorting to replacing Quest 2's and trying my family's gaming setups. I am beyond frustrated that my attempts to solve this problem have been futile. I am convinced that the Oculus Software on PC is the culprit and is not working as intended. Hi guys, My quest 2 has been working perfectly since i got in on 22nd of october. Now suddenly it will not boot up anymore. When I turn it on, it shows the oculus logo, stays there for a few seconds, then shuts down for a few seconds, and then shows the logo again, shuts down, logo, shuts down.... The only way I can really stop this, is by acessing the usb update menu on one of the loops and selecting "Power off". I have tried all the options and they do nothing. If I select "boot device", it starts the boot loop again as before. The same thing happens if I select "factory reset". Once I confirm that i want to factory reset it, it just goes back into the boot loop, and nothing else happens. So yes, i did try to factory reset it, but it just doesnt work.
