Can't find/join to matchmaking session [UE 4.24.3]
I'm having a problem finding and joining to sessions with UE4.24.3 (Oculus integration). I have set up a pool and I can create a session and travel the host to a map with open level and ?listen. The session is created, I can see it in the matchmaking debugger and app UI, however clients cannot see any sessions. DefaultEngine.ini has been setup, I followed the advices here: https://forums.oculusvr.com/developer/discussion/72595/fixes-for-common-ue4-oculus-platform-issues-before-submitting-to-store#latest I uploaded the build to the RC channel, and tested it with another user, who is subscribed to that channel. I look for sessions by opening the UI, which generates clickable buttons for every session. Clicking on these buttons should join the client to that particular session. The Find Matchmaking Sessions node succeeds, but Results array is length 0. Any advice about what i am doing wrong would be much appreciated. ::smile:2.1KViews0likes2CommentsIs it possible to activate the passthrough cameras from within a software (UE4)?
Hey guys! I want to know if I can activate the passthrough cameras manually from my software. I want to be able to let the user see through the cameras, while doing some setup for the software. Is there a way to activate the cameras, except the double press on the oculus button?936Views0likes1CommentRift S without controllers and initial setup
Hi, We are developing a game for fitness machinery using Unreal Engine 4.22. It is going to be installed in various gyms and fitness clubs around world. While we find Oculus Rift S the best hardware choice available, we completely don't need some features and they are posing quite a problem for us. Is there anyway to turn off: - Oculus safety zone setup (we have more advanced safety measures including real-time heart rate and performance monitoring and custom safety zone for each integrated fitness machine) - Oculus floor heigth setup (we calibrate it in game) - Touch Controllers (game is controlled via fitness machine e.g. indoor bicycle, HMD movement and our custom-made triggers) For now Oculus keeps on reminding us to do default setup actions like safety zone calibration every once in a while which is extremely annoying, not to mention the fact, that we have to constantly replace batteries in controllers that we tottally don't need. Thank you for your help!2KViews0likes4CommentsAny different is development between the Rift S and non-S version?
Hey guys - I know the Rift S isn't out yet but I'm hoping one of the Oculus developers can answer this. I'm currently developing a project in UE4 using the non-S Rift version. I'm planning on purchasing the Oculus Rift S as well - anyone know if it would be a process to transfer / port the game over or would they use the same drivers and have it be a seamless transferal process? Thanks guys! Chris840Views0likes2CommentsCreate a bare bones Oculus App
Hello. I want to create my first Occulus project. There's this old point and click game called Riven that uses 2D prerendered images to build its world. I want to bring this world to Occulus rift. Using Riven's 2D source files I want to create sets of stereoscopic images (using Photoshop trickery) and then basically release Riven 3D for use with the Oculus rift. Riven 3D will be a series of static 3D images with various sounds and simple animations, much like the original Riven is a series of 2D images. My question is, which engine or framework should I use to make Riven 3D? Unreal came to mind, but a full 3D engine for serving up some stereoscopic images sends like overkill to me? *TL;DR* Could someone recommend a very basic framework / engine? Could I create, from scratch, a program that outputs sounds and imagery to the Oculus rift? Any pointers to tutorials / guides? Or would unreal simply be a better choice? Hello! I am new to the VR and I am trying to venture and create a little project. I was wondering, do I really need to use UE4 or Unity? Or if I have a .exe file that holds a simple triangle can be displayed in the Rift? if not, is there any way on doing this? has anyone attempted it? I hope your prompt response guys! Thank you before hand.758Views0likes2Comments
