Why is it impossible to create a bundle that contains unreleased add-ons?
For my game, I have created 3 add-ons (skin packs) that have been approved by Meta. I'd like to offer these 3 add-ons in a bundle at a lower price point, however I am unable to add unreleased add-ons to the bundle. I dont want there to be a period of time in which 3 of my add-ons are publicly available for purchase without a corresponding bundle containing the 3 add-ons also being available at the same time. Why is it impossible to create a bundle with add-ons that are not yet released? Players of my game are going to end up leaving negative reviews saying they bought one of the add-ons, only for us to release a bundle with a better deal 2 weeks later!379Views0likes0CommentsUnable to create new Add-Ons on the Meta Quest Developer Dashboard
For several days now we've been unable to create new Add-ons. We've filled out the details, pricing and metadata, but the publish button never becomes clickable. We've successfully added new add-ons as recently as Nov 25th, but now it has stopped working. Anyone else?1.4KViews0likes1CommentI'm having trouble publishing the add-on I created?
Hello all, I am adding in-app purchases to my Oculus app. I have created add-ons and provided all the details, but when I try to publish the add-on, it says "Please finish filling out your add-on's metadata." I have already provided the add-on metadata, as you can see in the screenshot attached. Please help me resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.672Views0likes0CommentsDLCs vs IAPs
Can someone provide some clarity on how Meta differentiates between DLCs and IAPs? I had always thought DLCs = expansion packs, extra levels, etc and IAPs were like in-game currency, skins, etc. However, the way Oculus' documentation describes it makes it sound like DLCs are additional asset files that can (have to be?) purchased in the Oculus store, while IAPs are any purchasable item (can be a skin, can also be an expansion pack) that was packaged with your build the last time you uploaded it? Can you even purchase an IAP from the Oculus store? Or is the difference that DLCs are in the store b/c they're an additional asset file independently shipped, while an IAP is already uploaded along with the app, so you don't need to upload any additional files? If this is the case, then why do we need/have the option to create an "Add-On" in the Oculus Developer Hub for IAPs, and not have them shown in-store? Is that strictly just to standardize how payments in general work on Oculus' end? Any clarification would be super helpful. Thanks!742Views0likes0CommentsDo DLCs have to be uploaded to the store
Hi all, had a quick question about DLCs/the documentation. The Oculus Add-On Documentation says, "If your Add-on requires additional files that are not provided in your main app package, such as DLC, you must upload these to the Meta Quest Store." Does this mean that all DLCs must be uploaded to the Oculus Store, and have to be listed on the store? Is there no way to upload a DLC asset file without reuploading the whole game, have it purchasable from my game directly, and not have it listed on the store?701Views0likes0CommentsI can't see any add-on keys on my developer dashboard
Hi, I'm trying to work with Add-On keys for our game. I've generated few hundred keys and was able to download them, but they are never appearing on my side in a Keys => Add-On section, I've attached a screenshot how it's looks like on my side (guy from tech support was able to see the keys on his side and asked me to create a topic here, since it's looks like a dashboard bug).1.2KViews0likes0CommentsWhen downloading DLC OBB files via API, the OBB folder may be deleted.
Our game delivers multiple OBB files as additional content tied to DLC. We have received a report from one user that once the DLC installation is complete, the entire OBB folder is deleted and the The user reported that when the installation of the DLC was complete, the entire OBB folder was deleted and the application could not be started. The user was checking the folder structure of Quest with Explorer, and the app size was decreasing on Quest. We have confirmed that the app size has decreased on Quest. He seemed to have enough free space on his device. Also, the same problem seems to keep recurring even after reinstalling the app. Here is how the OBB download works There are several OBB files that are required even during the initial installation, and when the app is launched with the DLC purchased The download process starts and additional data is stored in the OBB folder under the application folder. When the download is complete, the app will run the mount process and reset the scene with the app still running. Since we have not implemented a process to delete the folder, it is not possible to delete the folder. What could be the cause?1KViews0likes1Comment
