Air Link suddenly not working
When i try to connect my quest 2 to my pc using airlink then it instantly gray's out. If i try to use an another pc and it is unavailable then it takes time to gray out not instantly. If another pc is available then it works normally. I have factory reset my quest and did a clean install of windows 10 and the quest pc app. I have reset my router, anything that could be reset. SteamVR works fine with steam link. I was casually using AirLink and one day i turned my quest off and then the next day it just didnt connect and hasn't since. There werent any updates so that coulnt be the issue.26Views0likes1Comment(Not Resolved) Known Issue - Quest PCVR streaming micro lags and stutter esp. when moving head
Hi team, I'm getting micro lags and stutter in Airlink on my Quest 3 (EU/UK), esp. when moving my head. In the Oculus debug overlay this causes brief spikes in transmit/decode, fps drops and visible stuttering. The issue is not present on my Quest Pro with otherwise identical settings - see below screenshots to illustrate. Few more details: - Issue is not present on Quest Pro with same settings on HMD, router and PC (using same res) - Issue is worse at higher bitrates, esp. >200mbps, but still present <200mbps - Issue is unrelated to PC/game latencies (CPU, GPU, Queue each <5ms) - Stutters/lags are intermittent (every 10-20 seconds) when not moving but happen immediately and reproducibly when moving the head to either side or especially looking downwards (i.e. on any bigger headset movements) - Wifi 6E router (TP Link AXE75 EU/UK) - EDIT: exact same issue with Asus RT-AXE7800 (EU/UK) wifi 6e router - Connection shows as 2,400mbps - Airlink codec H264 (but same on other codecs) - I've attempted factory resetting, installing latest drivers - Updated to v62 and latest Quest Link desktop version (I can see the 120hz option for my Q3) - EDIT: Ordered a separate Quest 3 for testing: presents the exact same issue -EDIT: Same issue on 5ghz 802.11ax 160mhz BUT switching to 802.11ac (!) completely fixed the issue. I cant test this on 6ghz but looks like 802.11ax or something related to how q3 implements it is the culprit As the issue is worse the higher the bitrate and not present on Q Pro with otherwise same settings, I suspect it's related to the below known Wifi issues - but opening a new thread as instructed. https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/Known-Isssue-Unstable-wifi-coverage-with-Quest-3-on-some-Router/td-p/1090698 Best, Jens Updates: - Tried separate router: exact same issue with Asus RT-AXE7800 wifi 6e router - Ordered a separate Quest 3: exact same issue on both routers -Same issue on 5ghz 802.11ax 160mhz BUT switching to 802.11ac (!) completely fixed the issue. I cant test this on 6ghz but looks like 802.11ax or something related to how q3 implements it is the culpritSolved278KViews42likes442CommentsExternal microphone not working on Link
I recently purchased a usb C gooseneck microphone to plug straight into my Quest Pro (v81). It works and sounds great on native quest apps and recordings, but as soon as I use any streaming software (AirLink, Virtual Desktop, or Steam Link), it does not work. On AirLink and Virtual Desktop, I will get extremely loud clicking that overlaps the audio. Sometimes Virtual Desktop will straight up crash. And again, it works perfectly fine in recordings on the Quest and when testing the microphone on social apps. As a control, I plugged my Antlion modmic straight into the Quest Pro and discovered that it worked with no issues. So now I am confused as to what makes this new microphone not work with AirLink but work perfect on native apps. I've also factory reset the headset and reinstalled Virtual Desktop and Oculus Link on the PC side and that yielded no results.86Views0likes9CommentsQuest 3: Air Link and Charging
Hey supporters, after upgrading to a new fast wifi-router I've tried to connect to my PC by air link. Everything went fine and the wireless connection is fast and stable. But while using air link it is not possible to use an external battery since the USB-port is disabled. While using the Quest standalone the external battery works fine, so I cannot understand why it is not allowed to use it for charing when air link is activated. For me, it semms to be a bug and neither a feature. I didn't find any option to disable the deactivation of the USB-port. If there is such an option, maybe one can tell me where it can be found. Otherwise, I would like to understand why the USB-port is deactivated when using air link. Using the external battery often doubles the time you can use the Quest until charging is necessary. You are a billion dollar company who regularly gets their lunch eaten by a $20 app (if you're reading this just buy 'virtual remote desktop' and stop using meta). Today you patched airlink so that while it is running you CANNOT leave oculus home. cant double tap the headset for passthrough to the UI, just a message that says "you can resume" but I cant resume because oculus home has crashed for one of the 100's of reasons, but thanks this UI oversight I am trapped in the HMD. Nice job folks. Zero features, zero new QOL tools, zero HMD side debug tools. Nothing of value added, and again a worse experience. So to the 'moderators' whose best advice is submit feedback through the app, i cant it crashes because Meta sucks at their job.28Views0likes1CommentPc not detecting pair with Meta Quest 3
I’ve been trying to pair my Meta Quest 3 with my gaming laptop using Air Link. On my Quest 3, I can select my PC and press “Pair,” but nothing happens—no prompt appears on my PC, and the headset does not connect. Using a Link Cable works perfectly fine, but I don’t have a high-quality cable, so I would like to use Air Link instead, as it would be much more convenient. I’ve also noticed that other people on the forums are experiencing the same problem, and the ones I’ve seen all seem to be using laptops or gaming laptops. I’m not sure if this is related, but it could be worth noting Things ive tried Both PC and Quest are on the same 5 GHz network. Firewall and antivirus disabled. Oculus PC app run as administrator. Oculus services restarted. Reinstalled Oculus PC app completely. Verified router allows LAN communication Confirmed Air Link is enabled in headset and PC. my pc is visible on my quest 3, airlink is on, i am connected to the same router my computer is wired to today i was unable to connect to my computer and i'm not sure why nothing changed between today and yesterday, and it was working fine then i've reinstalled windows twice now, reinstalled my graphics drivers with DDU, and still nothing50Views0likes5CommentsCant download After the Fall on desktop app
I purchased After the fall in the quest headset and wanted to airlink to my PC for better graphics. I cannot download the program to my PC via the desktop app. Other games are not having this issue it appears to be only "After the Fall". I have opened a ticket (7786734) and there was no solution i was simply told that my RTX4090 was too powerful. Which should in no way keep the oculus app from functioning properly and the fact that other games work this way clearly shows this to be incorrect. I would appreciate any help to resolve this. Also i have already tried the download and repair effort described on another thread. This did not solve the issue.916Views0likes5CommentsAir link randomly stopped working
As said, air link randomly stopped working. It started by having the button unavailable one day. I restarted my quest and pc, same thing. I unpaired and tried pairing again, when I hit pair I don't get a code. It detects it fine, paired to my phone fine, but refuses to work with air link to give a code. I tried turning off my firewall, factory reset, deleting the pc oculus app, and several other things, but nothing works. Edit: For anyone unable to get a pairing code like this or to connect (not detect, still detects pc) this solves it. Its hard to find this solution onlineSolved43KViews6likes57CommentsWhat Wifi 6e routers currently works bug free with the Quest 3?
Hi! Just wanted to post here to get a seperate thread going. As of today there is a major bug in communication between Quest 3 and certain types of Router models. So let's get a list started on Wifi 6e routers that actually work. What Router do you have experience with being stable at 2400 Mbps in dedicated 6e mode? Remember to post Router name and model and screen grabs/video from the Quest 3 showing the speed. (Turn on experimental wifi settings to do so.) This is by no account a list that is for everyone. So far I found that some of the more expensive models between 350-700$/€ have been reported to work. So meta still has a major bug to fix. But if you can afford it, this might be is a way around the problem… ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ The bug explained: There is a bug with negotiation rates with certain router models. Essentially AX and AXE models but more might also be affected. I have been investigating this bug since launch and finally both Meta and TP-Link have confirmed that the Quest3s negotiation protokolls with the routers is very unstable. This problem is totally unrelated to VD or AirPlay functionality, but it's here you'll notice the problem. As of right now the Mbps can flux from approximately 1080 to 1900 on 6G and ocasinaly dip down below 800. Making it stutter and glitch in latency. On 5G it will flux between 1080 and 420 Mbps making it essentially unusable in wireless PC streaming. Both Meta and TP-Link are currently investigating the problem. Meta has stated that the problem will be fixed with a firmware build in the near future. If your experiencing this bug and want to follow its progress you can follow this seperate thread: https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/Unstable-wifi-covarage-with-Quest-3-on-some-Router-Brands-Known/m-p/1099915#M241197
